  1. Good idea, and I like that its denim. How warm is it to wear? I want the black Rix Road version without armor.
  2. i only got the one pic, it was a crazy busy weekend with probably more troopers and Mercs than we have had at any single event since I joined in 08. Lafette Comic Con, we also did a fundraiser for the Make a Wish Foundation. it was two solid days of trooping. I need to make myself a welding unit, the welder from Aliens would be perfect.
  3. Eric when I first joined you saw more of the no-- groove style Mitchell style greeblies than with the grooves. People were turning these in aluminum, or even back in those days stacking washers, and then making casts of them. I just found a whole scad of the casts I made all those years ago, with no grooves or center dimple. now you are ready for your E10.5 blaster!
  4. Plus we need a CRL photo of the hooks on the tunic. Just sayin'
  5. Glad to see this Shayan! I like Jim stuff but i agree that the color would be better lighter. I dont know about your water in your part of the world, but here if I wash things a few times the Chlorine in the water will strip out dye. I have been wshing my ICAT driver pants that I made out of Dickes work pants and the color has eventually faded. I would be wary of bleaching the uniform. Here in the US we have RIT color remover. In hot water it helps to remove color or strip out dye. For armor I cannot wear any of the ABS or fiberglass armor. I have to print my own, and have been doing so for my ICAT, which is the same gear.
  6. Patricia you are most welcome and I am happy to support this project. The elastic is best replaced due to those blue "welders goggle" lines. I have seen those blue lines on every real welding goggle since the early 70s. The good thing is the goggles do not need any changes other than that. Your sewing ability impresses me, and I love watching all your work over in RAID (thats the Rebel Infantry Detachment for those that are not RAID members).
  7. Once one is available, we need a helmet and goggles made up to L2 specification for the submission process. If anyone has a tunic with the belt hooks, we also need images of that.
  8. There will be one CRL with tabbed versions. We are building it the same way we built the mudtrooper CRL with tabs. We do not see the need to stack multiple CRLs just for the sake of having multiple CRLs.
  9. All, Staff is working on getting this finished up so we can get it in front of the LMO. We need photos of every version, all parts, all variations for this to be complete. Things like the headset that is only seen on one character is a minor part that can be added later. Please finish up anything you are working on and photograph it so we can package this up, we all know the LMO review process can be lengthy.
  10. those are fairly minor greeblies added to the headset. Since it is only seen on the comms tech, it would be listed as an option for the soft, two left shoulderbar variant.
  11. it is OK if it chips here and there but if you clean the buckle with something like comet or a scouring cleaner, than really rinse it well, and use an adhesion promoter, the belt paint will last a bit longer. The nylon used in belts doesnt really hold paint well, so occassional repaints are common across the costuming community.
  12. Patricia I have not had much success with dying canvas, but I know people do it all the time. we use RIT dye here, and in powder form it can be pretty crunchy for the nostrils. I sent your package last friday, it will be there in a few days and has your goggles in it along with your husbands ERT pants.
  13. Fraser wins the day on that one! he was on set, and we will definitely lean into his experience. So, lets consider the texture issue settled. Rattle cans will give that, and from what I saw, it was VERY faint, casting no real shadow.
  14. I have just gone through the scenes on both Aldhani and Ferrix, and the texture is present on both the grey and green helmets. Timestamps 10:16 33:20 and 37:01 of the Rix Road episode. The texture is VERY faint, less than what I would see on scale models representing cast steel tank turrets on plastic models. Thats due to being molded, then painted, losing the depth of the texture. When I do this texture on models I used a old stiff brush and Mr. Surfacer500 then wet sand it to knock it back. But- it is there and at times when the light catches it you can see it- barely. I feel this is an L2 item. I could not detect any texture on the armor, that all had smooth appearance in outdoor light. Proposal: Helmet An open-faced, flared helmet which consists of a dome with rim and helmet skirt. A telemetry unit is attached to the right side of the dome and is aligned with the rim. The telemetry unit consists of a rectangle box with detailing that should match the reference image. The telemetry unit is black. The lower end of the telemetry unit sits out from the helmet to allow the goggle elastic to feed underneath. A raised lip covers the edge of the helmet rim. Metal/silver Imperial code disks are positioned on both sides of the helmet skirt. The helmet is to be painted very dark grey to match the armor. The helmet may feature a black chin cup with grey webbing strap. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): The helmet has a webbing style head suspension similar to work hard hats. Imperial Code Disks do not feature a notch or groove details. Goggles and strap are permanently mounted to the helmet, with the telemetry unit mounted directly atop the goggle strap. The helmet outer surface has a mild "orange peel" effect from paint stippling. It shall not be overly done.
  15. on second thought and "upon further inspection and review" I believe this is a bad pull. I do not believe this is a texture that was added, I feel this is a bad vacform pull, and i have a dozen bad pulls in my garage with this texture. Years ago when I built a vacform table, and did not know anything about how to do it other than a short and VERY crappy video on youtube. This was my result on all the plastic we used. This is likley a background character that wont be anywhere near the camera.
  16. I have the Mr Poopie files (free for the asking, send him a message on the Pathfinders boards) and they look like fine files. My nose is crushed in my Spike ABS helmet so I just sold it off. If you print, you can size the files to you. Vacform pulls tend to run small ,much smaller than me which is why I dont have a regular Scout.
  17. Thanks Krzystof! I concur, your gear will look much better if you paint it all to be the same shade and it matches. All of my gear is painted, then weathered with mud. The gloves do seem large and they have what looks like padding on the fingers that is not appropriate. you have a lot of excess strap so you can drop the hooks on the straps to the bottom of the belt, or even take the hooks off and loop the webbign around the belt to hold it then run it back through the triglides. Drop the triglides down below the pocket and that will help hold the belt. The back pouch straps are dangling, for your L2 approval Id like to see those straps secured so they do not dangle.
  18. from the photos and watching the series i never saw any of this crinkle texture. This looks like what gets painted onto toolboxes to make them more wear resistant.
  19. I agree with all 3 of Marks recommendations. I have two items from Sheevs Emporium and it was a great experience. I follow Geekys Gaskets and would love to get some stuff from her one day as well.
  20. Our CRLS will be handled one at a time. I have all the text written, but we need to wait for LMO review on the Aldhani troopers first.
  21. i understand. Yes, some GMLs take their job very, very, VERY seriously. I like your boots, youve done well on them. I know there is a way to cut the panels to fit you, ive seen it done, they are not straight, or rectangular panel but more of an oblong.
  22. ok cool, and thank you. That really helps. It fits on a CR10, but i have to run my armor through armorsmith to fit me.
  23. Sebastion I think you may be correct. The brass was brought over, and it can be edited.
