  1. i bought a very heavy aluminum construction yardstick that is 2" wide for that very reason. Great for cutting leather belts once I clamp it down.
  2. Thanks Tony I printed up the buckles that Luke (?) modeled up for us or was it you that modeled the Del buckles, they came out great.
  3. oh, thats true!! i never thought about that. I know I can get a roll of it. Ill check with my local rubber house, they have a ton of stuff.
  4. yep, you are right! i wont be wearing one. and if I did, it would be backwards with my goggles on it. Which I may do for giggles since thats how I wear my engineer half the time. We knocked it out first because its on top but in the end different tabs with differnet configurations may be better off rather than so much mix and match. Thats interesting about the prop auction, I dont follow those so I never know whats going on with them. The photo clearly shows the greeblie, which looks like crap compared to the ones we get machined for us.
  5. very good and im glad its all minor fixes. Im still waiting for Jim Tripon to get my det and my vest to me. Then I can suit up for pics.
  6. Joe if you got a roll of that would you be willing to sell slabs of it to help a brother out (and recoup some of your cost) TBH it looks just like what I used on my BSG knuckledragger costume for the vest.
  7. my icat had a "hinged" flexible box and i put a common hinge back there. Youre printing in PETG? How many walls are you printing with? I printed a set of ICAT armor and it weighed a ton with 4 walls and 9% gyroid.
  8. it occurs to me now that the top of the "cone" top remains the same, but head size changes the lower base. That gives the different impression of "conicalness". I made that up.

  10. the IST text works for us, and Heidi's right, they look differnt on differnt people. Hoda's looks conical in his CRL photos. I think we can move on down the line at this point. Hat text has been posted to the finalized text topic. Next is the Tunic. Text from our Security Trooper CRL: Change log 1.0 Tunic A long-sleeved, black jacket that falls just to mid-thigh, with no visible zippers or buttons. Fabric is a plain weave cotton similar to duck canvas. Has a high mandarin style collar with a left-over-right closure that rises from the front of the tunic. One pocket is present on each arm of the jacket, each covered by large flapped closures. The top of the arm pocket flaps are in line with the top edge of the chest pockets. Discussion points that occur to me: People will use their existing Security Troopers for this costume. Will the fabric appear to be waxed? I need to rewath the episode but I have not had any free time. Do we need to include the verbiage regarding the tunic hooks? Are they visible at any point holding the lower belt?
  11. yeah Paul if youve got a beat up old belt, throw a bit of weathering on it and rock it. Not Mimban trooper level weathering, but light enough that its not Death Star TK white.
  12. The start of my Security Trooper WIP. Cause I refuse to call it the ISB Security Trooper 😄😆😁 I plan to do Sgt Gharial, our mustachiod hero of the Tac Squad. In progress In hand Gotta figure it out Hat Tunic Chest Armor Back Armor Shoulder Armor Bicep Armor Forearm Armor Hand Plates Gloves I got Endor Finders gloves last night. They fit! Upper Belt Lower Belt Hip Plates Trousers Shin armor Boots Optional parts Tac Vest I got my Viper rig last night, it needs a full modifiction to show apperance. Radio I got my ChiCom knockoff Cobra mic off fleabay in the mail last nigth. Very quick shipping. Mic button is a little stiffer than I r'memer of the old Cobra mic's needs to be moddd and have the parts printed and added for show appearance. Blaster Goggles
  13. Im working on the CRl, and as we all know its a work in progress. We strongly encourage discussion from the group, so that its not just staff doing all the research You may very well see something we miss. Jarred im next door in BAG and now that Ive lost all my weight I am about your build ill be doing Sgt. Gharial as well. How do you like the Jim Tripon soft goods? I had his ICAT jacket, built to measure and it seemed really big on me and thats before I lost all my weight. Im likely to order from him again but id love some recent feedback. On the ribbed belt Ill be writing it for nylon and for rubber. Ive used thin rubber runner on my BSG knuckledragger vest. it was a wider spacing, but i know you can get it both thinner and in thinner rib spacing. it had a thick backing, but overall it was very pliable once warmed up. Those knuckledragger vests wrap all the way around you and they move with you fiarly well since the actors were all over the Vipers and othe stuff they worked on. I think the real ones were actually made of conveyor belt material for that show, but looking at the 4K screencaps it really does look like rubber on the ISB team. The polypro you listed looks just like it and Im favoring that at L1 approval level. Im following along, I just put in my Ebay order for the ChiCom Ebay Cobra mike knockoff. For 14 bucks shipped thats better than my sanding all day.
  14. its been several days since any new posts have been made, and Im ready to clear and lock. Final proposal: Flightsuit One-piece flight suit is made out of a suitably heavy fabric. A canvas style fabric is most suitable, but other fabrics consistent with the visual references are entirely acceptable. The front zipper is covered by a 2" (50mm) wide piece of leather or leather-like material with vertical lines that attaches with Velcro over the zipper. Approximately 1.5" (38mm) tall mandarin collar with a chevron shaped, left-over-right Velcro closure. A 2.5" (63.5mm) red embroidered or PVC Inferno Squad emblem, on a black background, is present on both shoulders. The shoulders of the suit are slightly padded. A compad pocket that properly fits the compad is placed above the left glove so that the pocket is not hidden and faces outward on the arm. On the left bicep below the cog emblem, there is a code cylinder pocket with no flap, and vertical stitching dividing it into pen sleeves. No code cylinders are present. There is a piece of nylon strapping sewn below the pen sleeve openings and is the same length as the top of the pocket. The bottom front corner of the pocket is cut off at a bevel on the side pointing in view direction, with the broader upside forming the border of the pen sleeves. The right sleeve has a cargo pocket below the cog emblem. The right arm pocket has a chevron flap. Two large chest pockets and two large front pockets with no zippers or flaps are present below the belt There are no leg pockets below the knees. There are two red stripes that run up the right side of the flight suit. The first begins at the bottom of the right leg and continues up to the right armpit. The second begins at the right wrist and stops at the bottom of the arm pocket. The stripe then continues above the arm pocket, behind the patch emblem to the shoulder seam. The red arm stripe stops at the top of the shoulder seam, but continues up and over the shoulder as a black stripe. There are two black stripes that run up the left side of the flight suit. The first begins at the bottom of the left leg and continues up to the left armpit. The second begins at the left wrist and stops at the bottom of the arm pocket. The stripe then continues above the arm pocket, behind the patch emblem to the shoulder seam. The black arm stripe stops at the top of the shoulder seam, but continues up and over the shoulder to the collar. For basic approval this can be accomplished with topstitching. The black portion of this stripe stops at the collar. A piece of leather or leather-like material is sewn below the pen sleeve openings and is the same length as the top of the pocket. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Patches are vinyl on textile with no edge border. If twill is used for the patch material the fabric texture will be vertically oriented. The black stripes on top of the shoulders shall be a material matching texture and weave of the red stripe. Textured canvas is most accurate for the flightsuits construction as it is a thick materials with a "solid" structure. A "loose", soft or lightweight material is not accurate. Armor Armor consists of front and back pieces connected by shoulder bridges anchored by wedge connectors. Armor is glossy black. Chest and back plate meet flush at the sides under the arms. This is done with a third plate that bridges the gap between the front and back armor parts. This is best achieved with material matching the rest of the hard armor parts, but more flexible options are also accepted so long as the visual appearance matches the rest of the Armor (eg. non-textured black leather.) Molded black, ribbed, rubber shoulder bridges are acceptable. Back plate contains detailed "O II" design. The top of the back plate box may feature a trapezoid shaped depression 4" x 5" (101mm x 127mm) at the top of the box. There is a 5/16" (8mm) circular depression below the right shoulder strap connector on the back plate. Armor may be lightly stained or weathered. Silver is not permitted. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Made with reference to the game's 3D model and scaled to the wearer. Armor scaling and strapping must fit the wearer accurately. "O II" design shall have 16 points on the "O" design and "II" bars shall have 5 indented slot depressions at the bottom of each bar matching references. Trapezoid shaped depression at the top of the box shall match game refences for size, shape and location. Any visible staining or weathering must be light. Silver is not permitted. Shoulder Ammo Pouch There is an MP-40 style ammo pouch attached to the left shoulder and it must be filled. The pouch is made of black canvas, or canvas-like material with black stitching. Closure straps are made of black leather or leather-like material. There is a small oiler-style pouch on the bottom of the pouch at the right side. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Attachment is not seen. No straps are visible. Magnets or another source of firm mounting are advised.
  15. i agree to a point with copying the text, but I think we can add an L2 requirement for the more conical shape. Actually this is the same shape we saw with the first Officer addressing Vader on the DS hallway. Im pliable both ways on the hat. I dont want to fall back into the quagmire we did with the black secuirty officer, under the belief at the time we could adopt the green Andor text and change it "green" to "black" 😐 From the IOC: Imperial Hat, Black Hat is OPTIONAL since Meero is seen with hat and both on and off. Fabric is a medium weight suiting material matching the pants and tunic if applicable. Cavalry Twill or a Gabardine style weave is most accurate. Black color matches the pants. Base of the hat is conical, with a crown about 4" (101.6 mm) tall. Front and rear “flaps” overlap on the sides, with the back flap over the front, and are about 4 inches (101.6 mm) high. Front bill extends 3" down, decorated with (5) (6) or (7) concentric stitches. Imperial Code Disk is positioned in the center of the front vertical "flap." OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Code Disk has NO notch detail on the outermost disk. OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): All "flap" outer edges shall be wrapped with bias tape made from the same fabric as the rest of main hat material. Code Disk exactly matches screen-used prop. From our Security trooper: Hat — Version Two Fabric matches the tunic and pants. Base of the hat is conical, with a crown about 4" (101.6mm) tall. Front and rear “flaps” overlap on the sides and are about 4" (101.6mm) high. Front bill extends 3" (76.2mm) down, decorated with (5), (6), (7) or (8) concentric stitches. An Imperial Code Disk is positioned in the center of the front vertical “flap”. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Disks do not feature a notch or groove details. The bones of these two are the same. We CAN forgo the appearance of the hat, maybe two different costume makers made them ever so slightly different. I dont know ive never been on a set and I dont know how things run there but if these are in fact leftover/ reused costumes, im willing to concede to keeping what we have. Especially if you are going to throw goggles on top and its going to crush the crap out of the hat. I wont be wearing a hat anyway when Im in Sergeant Gharial! 😆
  16. im loving your work on the riot sheild. You did a ton of research and thats proving itself. Im of the opinion on the baton holster that it should be fairly simple. It was just a loop to hold it in place for the actors. We got a pretty good discussion for the CRL creation.
  17. Hi Paul take a look at the reference images that I wrote the CRL from. These guys are working in the mud and slop and the Empire's Army isn't exactly a clean spit and polish army. Even the Tks get in the mud with officers like Sunbur leading from the front. The Sappers get even dirtier and its just that plain old dirt. The CRL image shows a very lightly weathered belt.
  18. yes agreed and big thanks to Sebastian for pulling our Mudtrooper / Armored Security trooper text as he base framework to work from here. It was about this time last night when I was working on that ,and my brain doesn't brain this well at night in a hotel room. I forgot our color change indications last night when I posted. Starting with Sebastian's text from above, and reffing to Meero's conical hat. Change log 1.1 Hat — Version Two Fabric matches the tunic and pants. Hat is more conical in shape than standard Imperial hats.
  19. And, here-we-go Hat text will begin with the base text for the Security Trooper Version 2, no armor, with hat. From our Security Trooper CRL: Hat — Version Two Fabric matches the tunic and pants. Discussion: The hats are smaller at the top creating more of a truncated cone than in the past. Its subtle, but its there. The slope angle is slightly different. Another thing I note is that the disc greeblie does not look like the standard greeblie we have always used in the past. Its looks slighly smaller, and has a more significant step to it.
  20. With Del CRL update moving toward completion, and keeping an eye on our other Andor troopers who are recieving updated information as well this is one I had hoped for since the first previews. Im very excited we get to be the parent Detachment for this costume. And I see from our first , initial WIP topics that this will prove to be a very popular option. The quality of our refeence images has signifcantly gone up since we wrote the Mudtrooper CRL with its dark, murky images and Andors motion blur. These screen images are often crystal clear. Ready to get started!
  21. ive been so busy these last two months Im just now seeing this. Thanks Shayan. The TL50 is so damn customizable I didnt see it. I printed one for our Iden to carry and now when I look at Lears blaster in the source art I see the bones of it.
  22. i think thats the easiest and most practical solution. I know from scaling a bunch of (actually 30 of them) pirate hook STLs for my CO I had to make a bunch of adapter rings and I had to keep playing with the percentage until I got something like 87.7% size to where it would actually FIT the thing
  23. I have to look at this and make a positive out of it. OK- so I dont get to repurpose most of Del and get a secondary character out of it. HOWEVER we were given the tactical agent. we have traded a relatively lower cost/ lower interest build for what will prove to be as insanely popular as our armored Army troopers. For me, this is a tradeoff Im willing to accept.
  24. very very interesting, from struggling with my own I can see why wardrobe would want to put a regular white quick side release buckle on there. only weirdos like us would dare look at a boot!
  25. we have been green-lighted for the Tactical Armor agent, and will proceed to break it down.
