Glue your forearms shut. Use a snap on the top corner of the ab plate, not a rivet. You can use a rivet to attach the snap should you wish to, but it needs to be a normal snap. The crotch rivet can be the same size as the ab rivets. You can use snaps to attach the holster I suppose. Are you wanting to remove the holster? Otherwise, it is more accurate to just rivet it on. I have a holster that I use Chicago screws to attach it. That way I can easily remove it. That more closely resembles rivets than snaps do. Hope that helps.

That's wide open. You can modify a Hasbro with a DoopyDoo kit or even build one from pvc pipe. Darth Vorhees sells those from time to time. I have a number of E-11 blasters, but my favorite is the ones Lewis aka Slavefive offers. They are pretty accurate hyperfirm replicas. You can drop them and they practically bounce. Excellent for trooping. You can reach him at slavefive@cox.net

ATA is a nice kit to piece together. There is nothing special about ATA that requires extra work or preparation vs any other kit actually. Just keep reading build threads and start assembling your tools: E6000, X-acto blades, clamps, metal rulers, needle-nose pliers, snaps, elastic, etc.

The blue stripes are no longer allowed for any of our costumes. None of the sources we use show blue stripes.

HI Cal, To answer your question about time, that really varies from person to person. Some folks take a long time to do things because of time they can afford or due to precision-work, etc. Others like me, once they have the parts, run with it and make it a whirlwind. I tend to do things in ten minute increments in between all of the other things I have going on in real life. It is really up to the person, their experience level, and what sort of time they afford to the project. Potentially a scout could be done in a couple of days or it could be a few months. As for the boots, the first choice is clearly better. The sole is a big part of the scout. Even those would require some simple but time-consuming razor work on the soles to look accurate. They are a great base though and are similar to what I used. As for the flightsuit, I recommend avoiding military suits as they have too many pockets and zippers. What many of use is a racing jumpsuit from Redkap. They are super affordable, fit better generally-speaking, and have nothing you have to remove or hide. I hope that helps.

I know a lot of guys use Studio Creations. I don't think AM or ATA make Scout armor. Mine is Moncal. Our very own guy Chef makes it in the U.K. and it looks tremendous, but I don't know what the shipping would set you back. You might send him a PM to inquire.

It's coming along nicely Walt. Worth the effort for sure. My kids have used one of Kidsclonearmor's scout kits for years now. Sadly, even my youngest at 4 yrs is starting to outgrow that kit. What sizing are you expecting for this kit Walt?
