Ok thank you Shayan, we still need pics from our builders, but Id love for the LMO to look at what we have.

Here's the album, I have it set for view for anyone who has the link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1rCI9_phNdunZo9prwVgo3kVRJm7bERgx?usp=share_link for individual armor components. Worth getting belt from @fb501since he has screen-used belt boxes, but I have images in there for you for now.

Here are my initial full suit up, if you want to consider these for CRL images. All meets L2 except for the recent updates to the beltboxes being smaller than non-saga. I've flat clear coated everything which reduced more of the shine...these photos are pre-clear coat. https://imgur.com/a/CxmbHjQ

With regards to weapons, I'll defer to other builders. I do not plan on building any weapons.

These pics look really good to me. For our galleries we go all out, and have several views. Could you get us a view of the top of the back box showing the layout of the hose connectors where they are located on top of the box?

Im going to get the boss back into the topic to look at the images as well.  Thanks man!

No problem. I will take a bunch of detail photos for you this afternoon/evening and post up here.

Hello. I do apologize for the non build related question, but will this impression be eligible for the Specialist program? If so, will everything have to be Level 2 certified, or will the blaster additionally have to be Level 3?

Hey Zach. Welcome aboard; glad to see you here. Go introduce yourself to the rest of the detachment. You know, now that I see you poking around the Spec Ops detachment, I'm going to start bugging you about it at our next troop.

On to more pertinent news:
I've been off the boards for a couple days as well, so I'm glad to be back and excited to see this moving along. First, regarding the collapsing 416C style butt stock "rectangular greeblie." Is this descriptive enough? The greeblie is actually more pill shaped with a couple small details in the center. Here's a picture of the part:

This is blurry, but you can see the shape at least. I didn't go scene by scene, but I watched this episode again on Monday and this butt stock kept popping up.
Just my two cents...

We will still need photos of the helmet/goggles once someone completes those and the rank-bar shoulder bell; perhaps we can use Justin's that he recently posted...

I'm actually working on my helmet right now. I can provide a picture when I'm done if it's needed and no one else has gotten to it. None of you need to see it right now because it's covered in bondo and looks U G L Y, but here's my goggles that are early in "production."

Pay no attention to the other stuff there... you see nothing. Lol

Also, further up the thread @sonfield posted the Anthracite paint and I couldn't agree more. Being a former Oregon Duck, I've painted quite a few things in this paint and it's pretty much dead on accurate to what we're looking for. For reference, please allow me to show you anthracite under studio light:

So, what's cool about this is you can chase it with a 2K matte clear which will only protect and accentuate the finish. This is the direction I'm leaning.

Not trying to rehash the armor conversation, just agreeing with everything that's been written thus far.

ok great thank you.

Here are some additional detail shots. For the placement of the hose connectors, there is a template that Kevin (Imperial Surplus) gives you if you buy his kit.

If you need additional shots let me know. Just realized the armor has some slight dust on it from laying in our utility space air drying from clear coat and touch ups.

If you need the original source images shared on a Google Drive, let me know... otherwise I'll upload them to imgur for easier delivery.

these really help especially for those making their own.

In addition to Kevin's, for those thinking about printing a set, Chris' remix of Sean Fields' armor available on Mudtrooper.co.uk has recesses for the hose connectors. Danny Redman's fiberglass kit (which used Chris' remix as his master) also has these recessed.
Speaking of the mudtrooper site, I'm the dude who made the shoulder straps that are available up there for printing in TPU; I saw this mentioned previously a couple pages back. I've since remastered the straps and they're much more accurate now. If you want a set of the new set, hit me up; I'll post them on the forum later because I'm in the middle of redesigning the shin straps. Also, if anyone is thinking about doing this; please use a high quality TPU. I prefer NinjaTech Cheetah.

You're totally right, I suppose I should have gone more descriptive there...

Jason thanks for the word on the TPU ive never tried it but now I have a DD and want to try to get my head wrapped out printing with a rubber band.  looks bloody awful to have to print.  How on earth do you get rid of the layer lines?

Id love a link to your files for that when I get ready to print it.  You think that buttstock file may be some kind of door jamb receiver? https://tinyurl.com/door-jamb-reciever

proposed text for butt stock reciever, L2

The stock is modelled after a 416C pattern.   The buttplate on the stock may not be ribbed and has a pill shaped greeblie having three openings fitted. Two of the holes are circular, the central is rectangular.

No problems at all. TPU is fun to print with, but you definitely need to print very low layers in order to minimize the layer lines. Fortunately, the costumes we typically see that use these straps are muddy, weathered, worn or black. Each of these qualities attribute to layer lines not being very visible.

Now, just to beat the dead horse a little more, it just dawned on me that the 416 collapsible stock has several variants and the butt of the E-11 D is different (shorter) than the E-10 or E-10.5. I'm not sure how this would be worded to ensure the correct one is used other than to note that the stock must match the references, but here's a good comparison of two variants along side two reference photos.

IUX6F7w.jpg

Long (E-10) on top and short (E-11) on bottom.

Now, regarding the door jamb receiver; they look similar, but I really think this was a one-off stock for the blasters. I've looked at a hundred of these stocks now and can't find one that matches, so I think this is may be some typical Star Wars greeblie gluing.

Since the E-10 and E-11 stock pads have the greeblie and no ribbing on it, you'd probably need a custom butt pad anyway, so I don't think it'd be too much of an issue. This is very much a difference in the real piece, but since we gotta change it up for Star Wars anyway, I don't think it'll matter too much.

Sounds good. I've started making one in fusion that's accurate to the show. Until I finalize my design, I'll make a remix for the Sean Fields files since I think that's the E-10 that most people have.

With printing you can ( I mean me, as a printer) scale and size any STL or OBJ file to any size/ dimension needed. Thats one of the things printing excels at.

When Specialists applications are received we routinely ask for the item to be photographed with a ruler for the application, to confirm that it meets the L2 spec. I had to buy new parts for my own Specialist approval because what I was approved with for Basic did not meet L2.

How do we look on the Blaster, I would like to get this wrapped up so we can get it to the LMO.

Glad to see the progress here! I'm going to check out the beginning part of the thread to see the progression on the CRL so that we can start prepping it for final reviews on items. I love the activity with this.

Justin yeah that pic with the black and white stripe on the left bell is perfect, if we can have your permission to use it for the CRL.  We do Galleries here and try to get as many photos as possible for the builds. I wish the other Dets put as much effort into Gallery view as we do for each costume type.

Fraser that pill shaped indentation is at the backside box, top , correct?
