  1. I think all the under-brow details are Level 2. A GML will not be able to see those from standard submission pics.
  2. Reading the original post, I think determining L1/L2 is the primary task.
  3. With blu-ray released and a few pending CRL updates cleared, lets focus this down to completion...starting at the top (helmet) and then moving down. Review current text draft and if we need to make adjustments lets do so to get this CRL to the finish line as efficiently yet accurately as possible. Please keep in mind...Level 1 basic is the general look of the costume. Level 2 includes the accurate details that are slight and barely noticeable (especially during a GML review of front and back full body shots only). Neither Level needs to touch on actual unseen construction methods that are hidden. Topic is unlocked and ready for replies @nanotek @gmrhodes13 @JoeShoe @rickyboyblue @ukswrath and others. Once we feel it is set we can move on to next piece and add this to finalized text proposal section. Thanks all!!!
  4. 3m speedglas bolts should do it (they're normally part of a welding helmet kit). for specialist you just need to make sure you get concave ones.
  5. Welcome! Great to see you are working towards Specialist. The helmet will be difficult to tell till it's built but the chin looks like you could trim more off. As far as the arm pieces...yet the lower edges definitely look as if you could trim some more.
  6. I think there are a few points to remember regarding CRLs... a) The pictures themselves are not required to be hyper-accurate (Level 2/Level 3) models. I would wager that most CRLs actually launch with slight (emphasis on slight as I don't think there is anything pointed out here that I would qualify as major) inaccuracies/interpretations. b) A GML should always use the text...it says that in the CRL introduction...along with pictures. Not one or the other. Regarding the mohawk, I would say that while yours appears to now be matching the references better now, I would say that there is nothing in either mohawks that deviates from the text. If anything, at most I would say the differences in mohawks could be as simple as a Level 1 vs. Level 2 look. From what I see, the chin is gray with a black outline. Could you be more accurate and make the black outline thicker in particular so it's more visible on the very bottom of the chin? Absolutely. But again...I wouldn't term that "wrong" or "incorrect." CRLs, again, can (and often do) depict the Level 1 minimum as that is all GMLs are reviwing/approving...not the absolute most accurate representation and again I don't see any text that would conflict with what you have done. And with the pack colorings...there are references that show both and as such we have further "interpretation"...not what I would term "incorrect-ness." Additionally, that bottom center section actually appears to be divided into 3 sections...the right rectangle doesn't extend to the edge and a seam divides a smaller section on the right...but would I reject a pack that didn't have that. No way lol. c) CRLs are always fluid documents and in what I've seen here, I can't say that anything shown would need to effect Level 1 basic requirements persay..which in turn would have little bearing on the CRL photos. We could open up color options to a point for sure maybe (add in gray and be more specific with the black outline on the vocoder). We could add Level 2 requirements. Even the seam you added on the pack cylinder (which when I see the reference picture I don't see an indented seam...more something that looks like welding line that pops out from the pack not a seam)...could be added as an L2 requirement if we thought it necessary. So yea...all that to say that I think you're on track with your work. Keep going! I encourage that for sure. I don't see anything in what you have done that should bring any concern to a GML doing a Level 1 approval as CRLs should be reviewed in both text and picture always keeping in mind pictures can (and often are) Level 1 minimal requirement depictions. The GML is always free to ask the detachment (there is a forum for that in the main legion forums for us to assist) for advice and input and you are always free to present references to your GML as well (which sounds like you have). And when all is said and done...if we need to revisit the costume for some minor touch-ups, we can.
  7. Sounds good. @Blackwatch When you can please adjust and then move all completed portions to the "finalized" thread just so I can see what we have worked through. Specifically, I need a recap of where we are with the vest before we move on (gloves and compad seem fine for now). Once this vest is set we can move on to the belts and the connected components...finally circling back to the armor and boots. Thanks!!!
  8. CRL is updated and live. Thank you everyone. Locking this thread.
  9. I was born in Hartford but lived in Enfield till I was 5...so not long before moving to Florida where I was raised. I attribute my time in Enfield to my love for LEGO lol. If you'd like, you can email me all of the reference pics you can to iamdarthraider@gmail.com and I can download and upload them all direct to the servers for you in your original post.
  10. Ah wonderful memories in Old Saybrook. My grandparents used to rent a beach house there in summers. My in-laws currently live in Clinton though they are moving down here soon. Anyways... As far as detachment placement (which is ultimately up to LMOs but they do largely take detachment feedback as opposed to forcing detachment placement these days), based on what I see right now, I don't think Spec Ops is the spot...and if Underworld won't accept it this may be an NDA costume. That said...I'm open to helping you out just know that it would be a lower priority then our primary projects right now. A good starting point would probably be to sort out the variant reference pics and have sufficient reference photos (front, backs, sides, closeups if you can) of each. In reality, you would probably want to create the CRL to whichever variant you personally would choose...and then if others wanted to build the other variants, they could be added to the CRL as tabbed "versions" (see our Mudtrooper CRL as an example of that). Once you sort your reference pics, you would then start building your text (focus on the variant you would be building)...as you get a solid draft built, that's when I would suggest diving into the actual build itself...know what details are i the costume for sure before building and potentially having to undo or redo what you built.
  11. Very cool. Sidenote...Connecticut...was born there. Still visit in-laws there like once a year. What part are you from? As far as J-Sec...I'm reading the wiki as well and I'm trying to determine if they are actually Imperial or not. We take Imperial/FO costumes here. We recently turned away Fenn Rau and his Protectors as an example of a Empire-affiliated but not actually Imperial group. So is J-Sec like a contracted mercenary group? That's my feeling, but the character Gleb's straddling of the fence is what is confusing me. I see where Underworld would hesitate as this is a "law enforcement" group with Imperial/FO ties, not a criminal organization (depending on your point of view lol)...but they took Canto Bight Officers which would seem similar. Hmmm. I can speak to Deborah and gather her thoughts. Before I do...you fully intend on building this to completion? That said...there is a little-known category of "No Detachment Affiliation" to which a costume can belong. We have alot of projects going on here at the moment with CRLs that are high priority right now...alot get sent our way...but if you just need some help and direction in getting one done, I'm sure our people wouldn't mind helping even if the costume ends up in the "NDA" category. Have you started a text draft?
  12. Great question. It would not be no. References we have for Shadows are ANH based primarily and the CRL reflects that.
  13. Is our latest text draft up to date with edits made for compad and flightsuit? If so, lets focus on getting the tactical vest text complete
  14. No timeline can be given. As a reference point, when the Solo Blu-Ray launched, the final Mudtrooper CRL (which had been largely drafted ahead of time much like this Sith Trooper) did not publish for almost another 4 months. I would estimate it may take longer given the current state of the world at this point but I know we are working to clear things from the slate as much as we can so that extra focus and attention can be given to the Sith Trooper. That's about the best info I can give you.
  15. You are very welcome! Also check the cog size on the shoulder bell against these references and the CRL. Yours looks big but I cant really tell.
  16. Right (no panel) Left (panel...here gray-ish...we have a game footage shot that looks darker/black) Just to note...this isnt actually a CRL requirement but its something that might be looked at for Level 2 requirement in the (near) future.
  17. Very nice @BLACKFOX! With that pack, leading up to the CRL publishing, the biggest issue we found was the canister size (which he updated to be more accurate)...I'm guessing this is that updated canister. The other thing...on the sides of the pack there are what look to be panels. When he originally made the pack, both sides had black panels. Only the left should be black. I'm not sure if it's possible, but the right should really have no panel at all...the CRL gallery shows the right painted white at the very least. Check the CRL gallery for weathering references as well for the cylinder caps, rocket vents, etc. Best wishes in getting this to the finish line.
  18. Yes it should be, if following the game reference exactly, layered leather strips.
  19. Several have. It is something that is being addressed in an update for clarity (currently in progress but has slowed with most of team occupied with COVID life adjusting). Right now, the CRL wording states “ribbed leather or leather like material.”. Thats it. That would be up to your GML to decide...the game shot is most definitely what it should look like BUT the wording is a bit vague at the moment...the pics do show what has been acceptable since the CRL launched. Those types of straps wont be accepted at all when the update processes and we can get new model pictures.
  20. I just uploaded some ones Darren had told me to grab. I will add these here that we don't have. Thanks @gmrhodes13!
  21. I've updated more reference pics (an old email I found that was overlooked and a few here) and I believe with the new blu ray coming out just a couple more batches should do it. This one pic file though, the forums won't take (jfif). Any way to get it as a jpeg or png? @JAFO may have it...recently messaged me saying he had a folder with some for us to put here.
  22. @JAFO provided me a gallery of behind the scenes pics from the early digital release. I will update our reference thread.
  23. Good to see you back on it @Bozzy
  24. Not off hand. The armor is the same as ANH (New Hope) Stormtrooper...not rogue one if that helps
