  1. @nanotek It may be a case of the CRL needing a revisit once its gone through some GML reviews and we get some feedback on what may need to be moved to L2. I dont think changing the submission process is an option for us really...but to verify... @ionicdesign @Michael Ren This suggestion above would not be do-able within current Legion approval guidelines correct?
  2. Adjustments made to bicep with one possible change needed regarding the yellowed line. Waiting for confirmation. Posting the Cuirass/Gorget sections for final editing review. I'm curious as to how these will be pictured in the CRL (which will affect how we list them). Any feedback on that? Cuirass & Gorget (Chest/Back Armor) Finished in a high gloss deep red that matches the colors of the entire costume Cuirass is comprised of the chest and back, with a gorget forming the neck opening Cuirass Back The back has an O II (02) shape is made up of recessed II and the O is a recessed circular line divided almost in half by an intersecting horizontal line The bottom part of the circle is recessed, is black and is slightly smaller in appearance than the top half There is a small black vertical oblong recess in the top half to the left side The back has two trapezoidal "buckles" at the top back of the shoulders where it connects to the chest shoulder trapezoidal buckle The back has a recessed trapezoidal shape at the bottom of the left shoulder buckle that has more than 13 recessed vertical lines The bottom of the this shape is the same length as the top half of the lower trapezoidal section. The angle of the bottom matches the angle at the top of the bottom trapezoid. The recessed/raised lines do not extend all the way to the bottom The inside line of the trapezoid matches the angle of the buckle On the back there is a raised trapezoidal section that starts at the base of the back and extends towards the left shoulder. There is a small recessed rectangle directly about the top of the trapezoid and is black. The top of the Trapezoid is the same width as the bottom of the recessed trapezoid under the top left shoulder. The angle of the top of the this trapezoid is parallel to the bottom of the recessed trapezoid at the base of the left buckle. The raised section gets higher towards the top and arches out slightly from the wearer’s back. Cuirass Chest 3 vertical oblong recesses near the collar on each side of the chest near the center opening The chest extends over the shoulder towards the back forming the shoulder straps which have an attached trapezoidal buckle that appears to connect to the trapezoidal buckles on the upper back armor. There are recessed lines extending diagonally out from the back collar to the shoulder, these lines intersect a few recessed lines deep with the vertical horizontal lines on the front. Raised smooth/flat section at front extends around the under arm of the wearer towards back. Starts as rectangle and tapers to match shoulder/arm hole There are two raised panels on the lower section of the chest, each extends under the arms towards and forms the lowest part of the sides. Each panel has the appearance of a separate piece and there is a recess that runs around the outside edge Left lower panel has one recessed diagonal channel Right lower panel has a small rectangular box/raised area with at least 12 evenly spaced, vertical and slightly angled recessed lines, the bottom of the box/raised area extends slightly outwards from the wearer. There is a clip & buckle greeblie separated by a ratchet strap greeblie in a recessed cavity just above the box (please refer to the diagram) There are a number of vertically diagonal and evenly spaced recessed lines that start at the top of the rectangular part of the front boxes, and extend towards the armhole. There are a number of recessed diagonal lines under the arms that extend from the armhole towards the front, intersecting with the curve of the raised box section. There are a number of vertically diagonal, evenly spaced recessed lines that start approximately halfway under the armhole and extend back to and underlap the Cuirass back. The recessed lines match the diagonal shape of the back armor. Both chest sides connect to the lower back armor The center section of the chest has the appearance of being a separate piece that has rectangular and horizontal recesses in lower section, vertical recesses in upper section and a small rectangular recess near the top Gorget (Collar) - One piece that goes under the cuirass to form the neckline of the armour (This should be a separate bullet correct?) Finished in a high gloss deep red that matches the colors of the entire costume Sits flat around the neckline Sits under the cuirass (or chest/back) and fits closely to the Neck Seal and appears to be part of the cuirass If there is a seam, it is as unnoticeable discreet (?) as possible and shall be securely closed with no visible overlaps or gap present There are 3 visible steps forming rings around the neckline, ascending from the neckline to the cuirass or chest/back. The third ring from the neckline and is closest to the armor has the following details: 15-17 raised sections that start and end at the shoulders, one center raised section at the center front that matches the width of the opening of lower front part of the cuirass opening, 7 smaller and evenly spaced raised sections that extend towards the shoulder Segments 1-5 (from the center section) and 7 are approximately 1" (25mm) wide Segment 6 (from the center) is approximately 1" (25mm) wide OPTIONAL (Level 2) The gorget must be a separate piece with no seam constructed of a flexible rubber like material Chest shoulder buckle is a separate piece Ratchet strap greeblie has 5 visible teeth Small rectangular box on the right chest has 13 recessed vertical lines Trapezoidal recess on the back under the left buckle has 15 recessed lines There are 8 recessed lines extending diagonally out from the back collar to the shoulder, these lines intersect 6 recessed lines deep with the vertical horizontal lines on the front. On the front chest there are 27 vertically diagonal and evenly spaced recessed lines that start at the top of the rectangular part of the front boxes, and extend towards the armhole. There are 12 recessed diagonal lines under the arms that extend from the armhole towards the front, intersecting with the curve of the raised box section. The center section of the chest has the appearance of being a separate piece that has 12 rectangular and horizontal recesses in lower section, 5 vertical recesses in upper section and a small rectangular recess near the top
  3. That particular commuter may not (I agree the ankle is wide and the references show a tighter wrap around the ankle/shin)...but there are no laces in the references...and as we have discussed there is also no indication of a stretch fabric. That is absolutely certain and therefore cannot be ignored. The approach should be similar to what @Kessel has been doing...scouring the interwebs for suitable options that match the references. Possibly other boot styles outside of the commuter could work or variants of styles (Ive been looking at Captain style boots...variants of Chelseas though not exact TK style Chelseas)...we have discussed chelseas and the stretch fabric (not seen in references) but even that would be less noticeable then laces though they also are a bit on the shorter side. The Imperial Army Sapper CRL has an example that has a bit tighter ankle. I understand the look you are shooting for, but references cannot simply be put aside. I suggest further hunting and discussion of options out there. The covering is an interesting idea but the amount of texture it adds to the boot is a quite a bit much.
  4. Corrected bullets and spacing @Blackwatch @MahXPrime @TX-20113 Check the bullets though if any need to be indented as sub-bullets. Helmet The Inferno Squad helmet is modeled after the 3d model specific to Battlefront II game. The Rogue One TIE Pilot style helmet is allowed for Basic Approval when requirements outlined below are incorporated. Original Trilogy TIE Pilot style helmets are not permitted. There are no screws visible on the helmet. Lenses are bubble or flat, are red in color, and must be sufficiently dark enough to obscure the costumer's eyes. Translucent or mirrored red lenses are acceptable. The front trident area is shorter than a traditional pilot helmet. There is a rectangular indentation on top of the mohawk above the trident. There is one retaining clip greeblie in the left side trident indentation. A Nissan retaining clip is most accurate. The top of the mohawk outside of the raised triangle is painted a dark gun metal color down to the inside edge of the helmet opening. There is a pill box just above the back bottom edge of the mohawk. The pill box is the same black color as the helmet and does not need to be functional. Spaces between the teeth are cut out and backed with a dark gray or silver mesh material. The teeth and vocoder are painted flat black. Oxygen mask connectors are molded into the helmet just in front of the ear caps above the cheek tubes on both sides of the helmet. There are Imperial disc greeblies without notches on each ear cap. There are two painted or decal logos on the forehead of the helmet. The Inferno Squad logo on the right side and an Imperial cog on the left side. Logo and Cog are equivalent in size, and shall be between 2.15" (54.6mm) and 2.75" (69.8 mm) for approval. There is a red painted or red decal area on the ram’s horn on the right side of the helmet. There is a red painted or red decal area on the right cheek tube. There are molded greeblies painted silver inside the hose ports that cover the openings. Helmet may have light weathering/ staining. Silver is not permitted. A balaclava must be worn when helmet is worn. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Helmet is strictly made from the game's 3D model and correctly sized/scaled to the wearer. Hose connectors are made from machined aluminum. Imperial Cog and Inferno Squad logo will be 2.15" (54.6mm) to 2.25" (57.1mm) scaled to wearer's helmet size. Lenses are backed with round-holed mesh/screen. The pill box is functional. Lenses are bubble type. Balaclava A balaclava is a black head sock/hood that is worn under the helmet and is used primarily to hide any view of the wearer's skin and/or facial hair. A balaclava must be worn when the helmet is worn. Flight Suit One-piece flight suit is made out of canvas or similar heavy material. The front zipper is covered by a 2-inch-wide piece of leather or leather-like material with vertical lines that attaches with Velcro over the zipper. Approximately 1.5" (38.1mm) tall mandarin collar with a chevron shaped, left-over-right Velcro closure. A 2.5-inch red embroidered or PVC Inferno Squad emblem, on a black background, is present on both shoulders. The shoulders of the suit are slightly padded. A compad pocket that properly fits the compad is placed above the left glove so that the pocket is not hidden, and faces outward on the arm. On the left bicep below the cog emblem, there is a code cylinder pocket with no flap, and vertical stitching dividing it into pen sleeves. No code cylinders are present. There is a piece of nylon strapping sewn below the pen sleeve openings and is the same length as the top of the pocket. The bottom front corner of the pocket is cut off at a bevel on the side pointing in view direction, with the broader upside forming the border of the pen sleeves. The right sleeve has a cargo pocket below the cog emblem. The right arm pocket has a chevron flap. Two large chest pockets and two large front pockets with no zippers or flaps are present below the belt There are no leg pockets below the knees. There are two red stripes that run up the right side of the flight suit. The first begins at the bottom of the right leg and continues up to the right armpit. The second begins at the right wrist and stops at the bottom of the arm pocket. The stripe then continues above the arm pocket, behind the patch emblem to the shoulder seam. There are two black stripes that run up the left side of the flight suit. The first begins at the bottom of the left leg and continues up to the left armpit. The second begins at the left wrist and stops at the bottom of the compad pocket. The stripe then continues above the compad pocket up to the bottom edge of the pen sleeves then continues above the pen sleeves, behind the patch emblem to the shoulder seam. There are two black stripes that run up the left side of the flight suit. The first begins at the bottom of the left leg and continues up to the left armpit. The second begins at the left wrist and stops at the bottom of the compad pocket. The stripe then continues above the compad pocket up to the bottom edge of the pen sleeves then continues above the pen sleeves, behind the patch emblem and up over the shoulder ending at the bottom of the collar. A piece of leather or leather-like material is sewn below the pen sleeve openings and is the same length as the top of the pocket. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Patches are vinyl on textile with no edge border. If twill is used for the patch material the fabric texture will be vertically oriented. Textured canvas is most accurate for the flightsuits construction as it is a thick materials with a "solid" structure . A "loose", soft or lightweight material is not accurate. Compad Rectangular communications pad with patterned painted details matching reference photo. Compad is worn with the four large, rectangular buttons pointing towards the wearer’s elbow. Compad is rectangular in shape and fits within the compad pocket window. Details of the compad differ from the standard TIE Pilot compad. Black buttons are smaller than the red and white buttons; the white button located adjacent to the button with multiple dimples may be a single piece, instead of split in two segments. Compad base color is silver, metallic grey, or weathered silver. Compad size is 2.5" (63.5mm) x 2" (50mm). Compad is fully visible above the glove, facing outward on the arm. For basic approval (Level 1) a standard TIE pilot style compad painted and worn to match game references may be accepted for use. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Compad shall be Inferno Squad style with correct button sizes, layout and colors. Two black buttons at the top of the pad are smaller than the white and red buttons. The white button adjacent to the button with holes/dimples is not split. Compad is moderately weathered / stained. The main shoulder straps consist of ribbed leather or leather-like material. The front portion of the ribbed shoulder straps measure 1 3/8" (35mm). The front shoulder strap buckles are tri-glide buckles. Vest-front tri-glides are attached to the vest with 1 3/8" x 1 3/8" (35mm x 35mm) loops. The quick release buckles on the back of the vest are attached by 1" (25 mm) loops. There is a an approximately 1.5" x 1" (38mm x 25mm) specific buckle greeblie mounted above the tri-glide buckles on each side matching reference images. The shoulder straps cross near the top of the back armor box. Each shoulder strap has a tri-glide that the end of each strap feeds into, near the back armor box shape. See reference photos and the Costume Gallery for placement. There is a 1" (25mm) leather or leather-like waist strap present at the back of the tactical vest, and it is attached to the vest with one quick release buckle on the right or left side of the vest at the wearers option. This quick release buckle is hidden under the scout pouch, and is not seen when worn. A single adjusting tri-glide is centered on the back waist strap. The Flyye tactical vest is not accurate and should be avoided. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): The vest is fitted to the wearer. All vest shoulder and waist straps are made of black leather. Vest front tri-glides are specific to the games 3d model, and are attached to the vest with 1 3/8" x 1 3/8"(35mm x 35mm) leather loops. Game- specific 3d model buckle style greeblies are attached to the leather shoulder straps above the tri-glides. See reference images and the Costume Gallery for placement. Front shoulder straps which go over the shoulder and continue to the back are made of 3 layers of ribbed/ grooved leather strips which are glued/sewed/bonded together. The first (bottom) layer is 1 3/8" (35mm) with the middle layer added to that. The middle layer shall be 1" (25mm) wide. The final layer is centered on top of the first two layers, and is 9/16" (15mm) wide. The three bonded strips run the length of the forward portion of the shoulder strap assembly. The grooved part of the leather shoulder straps stop just past the wearers shoulders, and continues on as a single 1" (25mm) black leather strap, passing through tri-glides and into specific quick release buckles, which are held to the vest with 1" (25mm) black leather loops. (see Reference Images and the Costume Gallery for placement and construction. The quick-release buckles on the back of the vest, which hold the shoulder straps, are attached by 1" (25 mm) black leather loops. The Thermal detonator fits between the two back belt pouches. There are two silver detail greeblies on the central box. These details consist of a dome-shaped greeblie on the left side of the box and rectangular greeblie with various designs on the right side of the box. For basic (Level 1) approval a gloss black Shadow Scout style Thermal Detonator with standard greeblies is acceptable, as long as the greeblies are painted silver. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Made from the game's 3d model and scaled to the wearer. The detonator consists of a boxy central structure containing a ribbed hose, and end caps which are "closed" where the tube enters the end cap. The detonator box features a round dome-shaped greeblie approximately 5/8" (15.8mm) on the left side and a 3/4" x 1.5" (19mm x 32.7mm ) rectangular greeblie featuring various designs as seen in the reference images. The standard shadow scout thermal detonator is not accurate and is not to be used for Level 2 approval. Holster Holster is made of black leather or leather-like material. A Stormtrooper style holster is acceptable for basic approval. Holster is worn on left side of belt. Holster is attached via 2 black leather straps which pass behind the belt, using two fasteners in the middle of the belt. Fasteners may be rivets, snaps, or Chicago screws. Note: The straps are slightly longer for this holster then seen on Stormtroopers. There is a retention strap which ends in a point approximately 1/2" (12.7mm) beyond a black snap closure. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): The holster is made of leather. A leather square is seen under the rivet at the top corners of the holster where the straps are mounted. Holster is worn empty. Boots Calf high black leather or leather-like material. Boots are dull in appearance. Similar design to tall German jack boots or tall motorcycle riding boots are acceptable for basic approval. Boot has a round, plain toe. Harness style or box toe boots are not to be approved. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Folding stock (does not need to function). No ammo counter is present. D-ring mounted on the rear. Correct style scope. No power cylinders on the magazine housing. Scratch-built, resin cast, Hyperfirm rubber cast blasters have a total of (7) U shaped channels on blaster (all holes on barrel are covered). If using the popular commercially available Stormtrooper blasters, you shall grind off the T-tracks and replace them with U shaped channels and cover the open rows of holes (total of 7 U shaped channels in all). Correct greeblies on the left rear area are present (door catch and two "hammers"). DLT-19x A DLT-19x is an MG-34 with T-tracks on the barrel, a scope mounted on top of mag loader, red ring around the scope, ejection port cover added, and a small disk on the left side, on a real or cast replica of a MG-34 machine gun. The DLT-19x rifle is scratch-built or is a high-end prop replica which matches reference images. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Accurate MG-34 replica base using correct size and proportions, either cast or 3d printed from an original MG-34. The scope has a design specific to the game's 3D model, and has a red ring which matches reference images for placement and size. Scope should include real glass lenses. Thermal Detonator Detonator is a handheld sphere that is chrome silver in color. The Detonator is worn on the right front of the Over Belt, and is worn to the right of the Detonite Charge if that is worn. Asymmetric latitudinal lines are etched into the reflective silver body of the detonator. Detonator appears to be open like a puzzle, creating a trench around the circumference of the sphere. Three front activation indicators are visible within center band. A light grey ovular and contoured top thumb switch is seen with a raised grip surface. Detonator has the appearance of an inset red arming indicator, functional or non-functional on top in front of the thumb switch. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Thumb switch activates the detonator. Switch slides back to reveal a lit red arming light. The three front activation indicators light up and flash based on visual references. The official Star Wars LFL licensed Thermal Detonator sold as the "hot potato" game should be allowed for Level 2 because it meets the criteria listed above. Detonite Charge The Detonite charge is grey , olive olive -grey or olive drab in color and hangs from the scout belt with a fastener that is not seen. The Detonite Charge is worn on the right front of the Over Belt, and is worn to the left of the Thermal Detonator if that is worn. The Detonite Charge is a cylindrical explosive which has a flanged base extending outwards from the bottom of the cylinder. The base stops 1/4 of the way up the cylinder. Mounted onto the cylindrical part of the charge are two square "vent" greeblies which feature mounting tabs held on with four domed-head wood screws. The top of the charge is depressed 3/8" (9.5mm) and features various greeblies mounted around a central core which rises above the top rim of the cylinder. Inside the depressed area are several rectangular greeblies as well as two silver raised knurled thumbscrews. The "core" has a silver raised cylindrical "pipe" fitting with a groove running all the way around it. The flange around the base has a total of 36 depressions or holes in groups of 9 spaced equally around the diameter. Hole diameter will not exceed 1/8" (3.1mm). The open area of the flanged base features various designs and greeblies which match screen references. The charge may be scratch built, cast, printed or high end prop replica. There is a 1" (25mm) red or brown-red ring which runs around the charge where the flange meets the cylinder. There are two yellow or ochre-colored rectangular stripes which divide the red ring into two segments. These yellow stripes are situated between the middle of the cylinder height, and stop 1/4" (6.35mm) above the bottom of the flange. There may be two different designs in the yellow stripes which match screen images. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Detonite charge is made from the games 3d model and matches game references including color and markings. The detonite charge is electrically lit and feature sound effects when 'activated'. The black markings on the yellow stripes match the markings seen in game.
  5. @nanotek Can you clarify the yellow line for me? Seems to be a repeat of the line above it.
  6. If you want to see an extremely detailed CRL check out the Sith Trooper proposal...or the Death Trooper or Mud Trooper proposal.
  7. Thanks for ur post and great intro lol! Assumption 1 is indeed true. These are our only references. Assumption 2...”self governing” but I would add “to a degree.” The overall Legion approach is to build from references and that is something our detachment (and most others) are working to improve...interpreting less and less. It would not be prudent to ignore references where convenient but rather look to build an accurate CRL to the references if details are missed...using the level system when possible to account for things such as trooper size/build, regional or general availability of items/parts/armor, etc...and in the case of art/video games, what is actually realistic to achieve because sometimes we see things in reference where only “magic” could hold certain things together lol. So with that said, we can always tighten up the details (which is common among CRLs as details are discovered in the references). This CRLs development was before my time as DL so I cannot speak to the full authoring of it, BUT you raise a good point regarding the belt. What I would say to that though is I dont think we should view it as a precedent which in turn allows us to loosen details (elsewhere such as the flightsuit) but rather an opportunity for us to further develop the L1/L2 standards true to reference. The grommets from what I can see are not there and perhaps that should be addressed as an L2 detail (requiring them as being absent) and a belt without grommets added as an option (of higher accuracy) for Level 1. Which brings us to the pockets...currently what you are discussing isn’t actually even addressed in the CRL but as a general rule the references should be the parameters when possible (emphasis to this). This is what leads to L1/L2 splits. L2 is what references show us. Period (taking into account the factors I mentioned above). L1 is what can still achieve the overall accurate look while still providing some lower level of accessibility to the costume. The pockets you mention arent specifically addressed in the CRL. No mention of pleating is made for or against. If I was to rewrite though I would say an L2 detail could be written restricting that (the best reference has none and the next best appears to be folds (as the lines end whereas a pleat would continue...and taking that alongside the first reference without the pleat showing at all, the safer assumption is that those are folds). Regarding the billowing...that word is referencing the pockets appearing full...not necessarily a bellows pocket Using the definitions you presented, it would be a gusseted pocket. When in doubt, go with the clearest reference. TL/DR (lol) Pocket details currently arent precluded from L2 in writing (but maybe they should...and maybe the belt should be adjusted as well). References should always set the parameters for CRLs before any of our own assumptions. If anything, we can/should examine the references as a whole to tighten details (ie the belt), not point to areas missed as reasons to overlook other things. Hope all of what I said makes sense. I know it’s probably the opposite of what you were aiming for, but the points you raise are accurate...but if anything they call for a raising/refining of those standards which may need addressing before the Engineer update publishes. Thanks for your feedback and it is always welcome...no one should get offended when things are noticed. We are human...things always get missed...and for me at least detachment activity and people studying the costumes and the CRLs is an absolute plus.
  8. Next up...the biceps (I will add periods later lol...check my measures plz)... Biceps Finished in a high gloss deep red that matches the colors of the entire costume One on each bicep and are mirror opposites of each other The biceps are made up of two parts; inner and outer bicep One seam that faces forward Overlap towards the inner rear of the bicep Clip greeblie is present low and overlaps the seam There is a small rectangular recessed section just above the clip Two black ovals are present on the outside facing side of the bicep Larger vertical recess towards the rear outer section, intersects where the bicep angles down toward the rear The rear of the bicep has an angular line that drops about 1" (25mm) to form a rectangular section when viewed from the rear The rectangular sections have approx. 11 recesses on each bicep The angular sections that meet to form the rectangular sections at the back are flat At the bottom of the rear rectangular section is a black horizontal oblong shaped recess There are vertical recessed lines in the front of the bicep Recesses start at the small rectangular recessed section above the clip greeblie The recesses on the outer bicep terminate at approx. 33 degree angle. The vertical recesses on the inner bicep are approx. angled at 45-47 degrees There are 45-47 degree recessed lines that run around the inner bicep (the lines are angled at those degrees or there are that many lines total?) terminate at the front seam and bottom of bicep overlap at the inside-back by the rectangular section at the back OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Clip greeblie is the correct bicep greeblie as per diagram The recessed section above the clip has two steps There are a total of 32 vertical recessed lines at the front that start on the inside of the bicep and end on the outside forming a 'V' shape intersecting at the bicep clip There are a total of 25-30 visible diagonal recessed lines that that start at the front seam and continue around the inside of each bicep disappearing behind the overlap on the inner rear
  9. On Level 2 applicants it is not unheard of (standard for TB Lancer and Shadow Scout Specialist for all of the strapping). At Level 1...not at all...approx gives builders a guideline and GMLs a roundabout as they will still just have the front/back approval pics.
  10. Adjustments made to top post. I have left the numbered counts in the helmet (for now) along with the word "fileted" until another word can be suggested (if ever). Moving on...the shoulder bells... Shoulder Bells Finished in a high gloss deep red that matches the colors of the entire costume. One on each shoulder with the same shape but different from each other in features. Both the front and back lower edges have a graduated step/angular edge. At the top of each shoulder is a small extension or lip that appears from underneath, is rounded and butts up to the cuirass. When viewed from the front, it appears as a little ledge that is lower than the top of the shoulder. Right Shoulder: Has approx. 16 recessed lines that start from the top edge of the angular section of the bell from front to back forming an arc. On the top is a "shoulder mounted sensor telemetry pod" and is mounted on a bracket that is fixed to the top of the shoulder. The sensor is circular when seen from the front and side mounted to the bracket. The front most part of the sensor is matte black, the remainder is red and matches the armor. Has a cone like protuberance forming an antenna from the center. The bracket is red matching the armor. There is an angular and chamfered box on the side of the bell. The outermost part has an extended raised rectangular chamfered box that has three black oblong recesses areas. Two larger ones to the bottom right and one smaller one to the top left. Vertical recessed lines on each side of the box. Horizontal channel at the top of box about 6-8mm (inch measures) wide Left Shoulder: Has vertical recessed lines running from the bottom to about ¾ up the bell forming an arc. The recessed lines terminate in an arc shape that mirrors the arc on the bottom of the bell. The total width of the recessed lines equals the same width as the bottom of the bell. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Right shoulder has approximately 16 horizontal recessed lines 1-2mm wide, spaced about 4-5mm apart each that form the arc. (inch measures) Shoulder Mounted Sensor telemetry pod. Has 2 recessed and 2 raised concentric circles starting from the cone forming a total of 4 concentric circles. Antenna is hollow. Shoulder Mounted Sensor bracket has the following details: Semi-circle shape attached to bracket when viewed from the rear with a small circle that has a spherical button towards the right side. The flat top of the rear part of the bracket has a oblong bubble shape in the back left corner when viewed from the rear. There is a horizontal line that runs along the rear of the bracket. The outer most side of the bracket is an L shape. There is a circular button/pin detail on the top right of the bracket when viewed from the side. There is a circular indentation diagonally downwards from the button, when viewed from the side. There is an indentation when viewed from the rear Approx 8 vertical recessed line on each side of the angular and chamfered box on the side of the bell. Left Shoulder has approximately 36 vertical recessed lines are 1-2mm wide spaced 4-5mm apart (inch measures)
  11. This would be the brow...its addressed in the 4th bullet Level 1 and the 3rd bullet Level 2.
  12. Thanks. To bring up to speed regarding counts, the discussion was settled that on the majority of parts we would not use line counts in Level 1 (particularly due to accommodate troopers of different sizes). The helmet is currently the main exception to that being the defining piece of the armor. Reading it back tho i just couldnt see a GML counting anything in double digits.
  13. @nanotek @gmrhodes13 @JoeShoe @Blackwatch @IcyTrooper @rickyboyblue @ukswrath Topic unlocked. I will be going through each item and adjusting punctuation, bullet formatting, wording adjustments, and drawing any final questions to the text. I am tagging @ionicdesign and to do a spot check on the CRL as a whole and to critique the CRLs accessibility to GMLs. We have Level 1 and Level 2 divided but I am still struggling with some portions being difficult reads for GMLs and would like his (Michael's) assistance on that. YELLOW - Items of question GREEN - Additions RED - Removals And if my color key is off know I am color blind (lol seriously have issues with colors). I've highlighted all numbers in yellow...though i know you all have the details locked in...I'm not sure it's fully necessary for Level 1 text as I just can't see a GML doing the counts, but counts are not unheard of on CRLs even down to our most popular ANH TK (tube stripes, teeth, ear bumps). So with that, the highlight to come to one final consensus decision. Once a section has been cleared, I will edit the top post text. To begin...the helmet... Helmet Finished in a high gloss deep red that matches the colors of the entire costume. Lenses are black in color. They may be bubble in shape or flat and must be sufficiently dark enough to obscure the costumer's eyes. The lens frame extends back underneath the trap and terminates approx. 1cm from the back of the trap. The brow extends out from the lens forming a significant overhang. There are two recessed lines that run parallel to and are above the brow. The bottom recess extends above the clip greeblie running parallel to the trap and connects with the recess at the rear of the helmet. The top recess terminates where it intersects with the bottom recess line. A "mohawk" section runs along the center from front to back but is not raised. 16 recessed lines run parallel to the "mohawk"-like section from front to back on each side. The mohawk starts from the second brow line and extends toward the back, terminating in the recessed lines at the back. The frown is semi-gloss black with the following features: The mouth has one center "tooth" that connects to the snout and is separated by a detail that has a greeblie section with 14 "ribs." The mouth has 4 teeth either side of the center “tooth." There is no hexagonal mesh in the mouth area between the teeth. (Level 2 mentions no mesh as well. Should this then be a Level 2 requirement or does this negate the Level 2 line?) The area from the bottom of the mouth extending to the tears has hexagonal mesh. The center tooth is the width of the bridge and has 14 small ribs at the top. The jawline is angular and has the following details: Flat trapezoidal section that extends 3/4 way down the jawline from the frown. Flat triangular sections, one each side of the trapezoid. 10 recessed lines that extend from the base of the flat triangular section. Each tear (area beneath the corners of lens frame) contains the following details: is Angular. Solid matte black. Recessed circle in the bottom most corner. has 3 recessed lines separating the top tear from the bottom section. Faceplate is two separate angular pieces that mirror each other with the following details: 14 recessed lines on each. Curved lower section that starts from the tear and curves towards the front of the jaw forming a filleted ledge. The ledge is more pronounced at the tear end smaller towards the frown. Faceplates are separated by a channel that runs vertically along the bridge of the nose between the lens and frown. The bridge of the nose has 10 small rectangular ribs from frown to lens frame with one larger one at the top. The side of the jawline has. 7 rectangular cut out vents/tube stripe slots are on each side of the helmet. They have the appearance of being black at the base of each slot. 5 recessed lines extend from the front of the jaw and terminate in an angled manner below the trap. There angle of termination is complementary to the black trapezoidal shape. Two helmet clip greeblies are present over the traps on each side. Directly below the traps is a detail comprised of a vertical alignment of shapes in the following order: a Small raised circular shape. a Recessed B shape. a Small raised circular shape. Below the traps toward the back and base of the helmet is a small black trapezoidal stripe. There are 5 recessed lines at the back forming a trapezoidal shape. The angle at which the recesses terminate are complementary to the rear black trapezoidal shape. There is one slightly wider recess channel that extends all the way around the base of the helmet. The base of the channel is black is about 8mm wide by 8mm deep. (corresponding inch measures) Matches all the angles of the helmet as shown. The bottom of the helmet has a black ledge that runs the perimeter of the helmet that extends back into the interior. Black ledge is approx. 3/4" to 1" wide. (mm measures too please) Matches the angles of the helmet, most notable is the jawline. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Lenses are bubble-like or bulbous in shape. Lens frame has 4 recessed notches near the top of the tear. The brow has the following details: There is a cutout section under the brow. There is a raised section underneath the brow that has a pattern comprised of 62 recessed pill shapes. The teeth are are metallic black or a very dark gray. Faceplate pieces are visibly separate pieces, 4 slots under each faceplate for covering the teeth. The tube vents are a solid backing and painted black. No mesh or cloth is present. The helmet clip greeblies are the correct clips (refer clip greeblies diagram).
  14. @Blackwatch knows this...but based on worldwide availability (affordability) we will just have to settle on some generic terms to get the color as close as possible. What he has done in the helmet is about right I think.
  15. maybe see if theres a way to be able to swap the flashlight on n off. two for one
  16. Getting there @Bozzy! Will you be adding a DLT-19 to your arsenal as well?
  17. My boxers (which are like a spandex dri-fit material) and a dri-fit tshirt. Bout it.
  18. @SpaceWelder Regarding the flightsuit pouches...the angled flaps in my opinion should be ok. In the original reference artwork, the flaps themselves are very hard to makeout. There are some instances where they are unseen: and in others where you can see the rectangular flap: The CRL itself however does not mention the shape of the flap. @Blackwatch? As far as the clips...they need to be hidden. That line is there as clips are a method of "construction" that shouldn't be seen...notice the CRL line says: "Visible snap-hook style fasteners that attach to belt eyelets are acceptable." Not necessarily required. If you are going for Specialist Level 2 (blue text) standards, that's where the "main body" of the fastener needs to be hidden. Notice here, not entirely...just main body. This allows for troopers to have the hooks as a means of securing/unsecuring the harness from the belt at the front while suiting up. The references do not show hooks...but for real life practical use, they are allowed so long as they are for the most part hidden. So if you are able to hide them, or find a way to practically put on/take off the harness/belt without them, it seems like a viable option to me.
  19. Got it...yea it's not like a gradual concave slope from what I see (like a scout trooper TD) but more angled and sharper (chamfered lol). I'm good then.
  20. No further discussion or debate outside of the L1/L2 split @nanotek did. We should be able to wrap this piece up then along with the other 3 pending. Welcome back...yea hang here...we really need to bang this out so you guys can get your approval submissions in. Your help is most definitely appreciated.
  21. Excellent! Passing this to the PR team Now on to finish that update!
  22. haha. hey if ur the first u can dub it what u want lol the corrosive weathering effect is really well done by the way. now to see it on you. i will be shooting u a pm as well
  23. Yes indeed that looks pretty good to me!
