  1. I often order it in ten meter rolls, with shipping, more is less. Make sure to lay the webbing on you so that it lays as flat as possible on your shoulders. The strapping is not a true H shape. It tapers in slightly at the back.
  2. yw, it only makes sense to toss them in the box. I love having built in sunglasses!
  3. Patricia those are not plain enough. let me get you a pair here and I can ship it with your husbands ERT pants they are done. Gimme a day, I may need to order them, but with that box going to you I may as well just send you along a pair. I agree, all that you commonly find are steampunk setups. Old, round welding goggles are not that common anymore.
  4. I just rewatched the sequence. And made interesting observations that will come up when we do the black security troopers. The trooper that gets thrown first at about 36:36 has his armor come apart but you really cant tell what happens to the collar. I looked at all the collars and they all looked Ok. The ribbed straps seemed to have more issues. Those may be cast rubber or eurethane collars. We want to wrap this CRL up. We are literally down to just a buttstock, and thats all that is holding us back from getting this in front of the LMO. After one gets built and photographed we can get the pics of it. Other blasters & equipment need not hold thisCRL submission up. Those would be at most an accessory. So, here is my proposal for the stock end, I want this done so we can present no later than Friday. The stock is modelled after a 416C pattern. The buttplate on the stock may not be ribbed is smooth and has a pill shaped greeblie having three openings fitted with three holes. Two of the holes are circular, the central is rectangular. The buttstock matches the size and shape of those seen on screen, being shorter overall than other Rogue One era buttstocks. The stock has the appearance of being two pieces joined together.
  5. My thought is , as long as it passes GML for approval, I personally am not going to ask what each part of the costume is made from, as long as it looks right. hell there for a while WTF was sending castings out in something like plaster. Maybe it was resin, but it was terrible. TPU or simlilar, or your tenacious may be the way to go. There is a part on Rix road where a troopers armor splits on him, front to back, and separates. I have to imagine that pull a serious wrench on that collar piece, but I cannot tell if that part survived or not, with the quick editing in the Rix road fight scene.
  6. Thanks Jason, havent messed with CF filament, finally got PETG to work after weeks of messing with it.
  7. Patricia I'm glad to se you here. I know you will knock the engineer out of the park. I love it because 1 its comfortable and 2 it has built in sunglasses! I was a bit concerned when I saw the cut on the boot but I know you will do fine with getting them back up to the required height. Plan on sending in your Specialist application, I really want all of our Army troopers to be Specialists, and its not that much more work to get it for Engineer.
  8. I think its going to be easier/ clearer if you guys that know the clear cut differences in this stock give us a description or text for the CRL. @BigJasoni are you printing in resin? your layer lines are super faint. @IcyTrooper ill pull the 3d print line. I work at a metro airport and I found what I believe is the buttstock greeblie on the ground last week. I believe its a zipper pull. There are thousands of them on the ground here, I pick them up all day long when they get torn off the luggage after the bag smashers get done with their work smashing bags. I was rushing between planes and didnt have a chance to get a pic of it. We need two or three good photos of the blaster, a top view would be very helpful and someone fully suited up in both configurations, with hat, with helmet and someone fully suited up in just the soft parts with the hat. We do full gallery views for our CRLs and we will need photos of everything for the Gallery. Going back to edit mode, Change log 2.3. Can someone provide text that will clearly capture the intent of what the stock should look like? Change Log 2.3 E-10.5 Blaster Based on a real or replica Sterling sub-machine gun, scratch-built, cast, 3D print or a modified commercial toy Stormtrooper blaster. A sling swivel may be fitted near the muzzle, on the same lower left row as the bayonet lug. A 3-Slot Picatinny rail is fitted on the row above the bayonet lug. The rail is affixed with two screws. The screws do not interfere with the rail slots. A sling swivel is fitted underneath the stock extension. If a sling is attached, it is made of webbing and uses snap hook buckles. 9. In the end , we have to have both a text and photo description for GMLS who are not familiar with all the different versions of the multitude of weapons listed in CRLs. . I can change the line, but i the end, does that help the GML who will have to approve it? Ive been a GML and had to work my way through a lot of vague descriptions. Ill wait for futher input before I proceed.
  10. I will add the text for the pill shaped indentation on top of the belt box in the final text on the first page. We would need a good, clear, cropped shot of the box with the pill indentation for the belt box. here is the proposed final text for the blaster. Please review. Once you guys give me the big thumbs up, Ill post this to the first post for Detachment and LMO review. I will change the text in this final proposal to reflect the shorter buttstock. 11. Justin yeah that pic with the black and white stripe on the left bell is perfect, if we can have your permission to use it for the CRL. We do Galleries here and try to get as many photos as possible for the builds. I wish the other Dets put as much effort into Gallery view as we do for each costume type. Fraser that pill shaped indentation is at the backside box, top , correct?
  12. Jason thanks for the word on the TPU ive never tried it but now I have a DD and want to try to get my head wrapped out printing with a rubber band. looks bloody awful to have to print. How on earth do you get rid of the layer lines? Id love a link to your files for that when I get ready to print it. You think that buttstock file may be some kind of door jamb receiver? https://tinyurl.com/door-jamb-reciever proposed text for butt stock reciever, L2 The stock is modelled after a 416C pattern. 13. these really help especially for those making their own.
  14. These pics look really good to me. For our galleries we go all out, and have several views. Could you get us a view of the top of the back box showing the layout of the hose connectors where they are located on top of the box? Im going to get the boss back into the topic to look at the images as well. Thanks man!
  15. I cant seem to find the seller on etsy, what is the shop name?
  16. I just looked at the oxprops listing, that's likely what I would go with, I can modify or move anything that needs to be moved. Great thing about being a model builder, these are all just big models.
  17. I believe its vacuumformd plastic like the other kits, but I may be wrong.
  18. Ok thank you Shayan, we still need pics from our builders, but Id love for the LMO to look at what we have.
  19. ok, thanks Ill make that change. 20. With printing you can ( I mean me, as a printer) scale and size any STL or OBJ file to any size/ dimension needed. Thats one of the things printing excels at. When Specialists applications are received we routinely ask for the item to be photographed with a ruler for the application, to confirm that it meets the L2 spec. I had to buy new parts for my own Specialist approval because what I was approved with for Basic did not meet L2. How do we look on the Blaster, I would like to get this wrapped up so we can get it to the LMO.
  21. We are writing the boxes to the same set of standards written for the rest of the CRLs in the Detachment. Also note the use of the word approximately in each of the text descriptions. This will all go to LMO review, and likely kicked back at least once by the LMO based on my experience writing CRLs. If the boxes are smaller than the R1 boxes, then we need to write them as being smaller. If not, then there is no reason to write any of the size description for L2 , and all boxes will just be L1. I can write it as a maximum, saying something like "boxes shall not exceed X Y Z" L2 is a Specialist, and goes through a separate approval process which meets a different, tighter standard.
  22. Im back, there are times where Im not able to get to a computer for a day or two. This weekend was INSANE, I got homer from work past midnight on Sunday. I was technically off this weekend. We do not have an L3 since so much of our Detachment historically was based in comic books and low resolution game graphics. Our Specialist program is built to an L2 standard. Until the most recent movies, we as a Detachment had no "screen used". Even now most of our development is game stuff. Several Garrisons around the world do not have blasters. The rest of the costume would be judged accordingly. The Specialist applicant need only state that blasters are not allowed per National law. Right now the Engineer does not have, or carry, a blaster, so when I became the CRL model I just photographed the costume parts. That was some VERY low resolution comic art to work from. Im personally not so concerned with belt box sizes as long as we have a guideline. I can add a text line with suggested sizes based on the discussion above and that will be L2 requirement stuff. When I was writing the Del Meeko CRL we got down to splitting millimeters into tenths of a MM for L2 based on game mechanics. I do not want to revisit that. The various vendors are going to supply what they supply, and those of us 3d printing will print at the printed size. Adding a suggested size requirement text will be in line with all other CRLs developed with L2 standards for the Detachment. I have updated the text for the belt boxes and for the back of the main box with its step , that is in the very first post of this topic. On the blaster Im going to take the suggestion for text revision and work it into this update: E 10.5 Blaster Change Log 2.1 E-10.5 Blaster Based on a real or replica Sterling sub-machine gun, scratch-built, cast, 3D print or a modified commercial toy Stormtrooper blaster.
