  1. set pictures that we see also suffer from the same issue as every other image, every monitor looks different. I can look at pictures on my phone and they look a lot different than on my desktop, but its the same picture. Im workon the new new Pretorean Guard and that red looks different between the two devices.
  2. Moving on to the shoulders and biceps. We did not fully understand how these were constructed when we wrote the Aldhani trooper, now we know . We can modify, and set 1 piece for L1 and 2 part split for L2. Additions and new text in green. Removals in red. Shoulder Armor — Version Two Each shoulder bell is a mirror image of the other. The detailing of each shoulder bell is asymmetrical. Shoulders should have a longer flat edge that covers top of bicep with a shorter flat edge that connects to chest armor. Shallow grooves are present in a pattern matching the photo. Shoulders are painted to match the armor and helmet. Shoulders are mounted to the shoulder strap via a bracket and 1" (25.4mm) or 1.25" (40mm) webbing strap. Optional rank stripes located on the left shoulder may be present. The stripes are painted on. The white stripe is approximately 1" (25mm" wide bordered by a black stripe approximately 5⁄16" (6.5mm) wide. The stripes may be semi gloss to gloss in color. Biceps — Version Two Bicep cover strips are raised and beveled with an added strip layer on top. Biceps are painted to match the armor and helmet. For basic approval the bicep may be a single piece. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Biceps are a split design and held together by an invisible fastener.
  3. Yes , I believe so. Weve allotted plenty of time for further comment and discussion. Back V 2.2 (Final) Back plate is painted to match the chest armor and helmet. The back plate to box should appear seamless. Back plate has a collar that extends upwards and tapers to the chest plate. The collar stands 1'-1.5" (25mm-30mm)tall Chest and back plate meet at the sides. The front overlaps the back plate. The back plate dips below the back horizontal edge to meet the dip of the front armor plate. There are 2 hose connectors located at the top of the back plate approximately centered above each rectangular cut out/greeblie. The hose connectors are angled forward. There is a 1" (25mm) recessed circle on top of and to the wearer's right of the right hose connector. The upper half of the back has two large cut out recesses. Each recess has eight symmetrical rectangular vent details and various greeblies inside. Four raised bars approximately .375" (10mm) long aligned to the top of the recessed box opening may be present. Each recess has different and specific set of greeblies inside that are painted to match the the rest of the armor. Left side recess has a rectangle shape greeblie with an angled right side end with five panels. The first left panel has a tube on top that runs up the left side and across the top of the recess. On the right side a heat sink is fitted. A heatsink modeled from a MSI DDR Chipset 38X38mm heatsink is most accurate. Right side recess has a long thin strip with 17 teeth, extending from the left edge to approximately 5/16"-3/8" (10m-14mm) from the right edge. This is located directly below the doulbe row of rectangular vents. Below it is a rectangle shape greeblie consisting of two parts. The left part is flat, the center is three rows of 7 oblong depressions and the right part features a hose connector greeblie. The left side has a raised "vent" in which the far left 1/3 is flat, followed by a thin line recess and 7X3 rows of oblong-shaped indents. The right side has a circular type hose connector There are 5 tapered vents on the lower sides of the backpack. These vents are present on the left and right. Bottom left features a smaller rectangle cut out with the left side stepped. Half circle indent detail beneath the backpack section must be present. There is an oblong greeblie centered below the two large recesses. The greeblie is aproximately 1/8"-3/16" (4.5-5) mm tall and 1 1/4" (30mm) long. There is a small 1/4" (5mm) diameter) raised circular greeblie centered aproximately 7/8" below the oblong greeblie. The bottom of the circular greeblie is in line with the top of the small rectangular cutout on the lower left side of the backpack. There is a raised slot on each shoulder for the straps to fit into. Shoulder straps are black and are affixed to the chest plate at the buckle. Moderate weathering to depict the Rix Road incident is permitted and must match reference images. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): There is a recessed hole approximately .31" (7.8mm) above the top left corner of the left recessed box. There are two indented squares approximately 1⁄4" x 1⁄4" (5mm x 5mm) aligned vertically above the right upper corner of the left recessed box. There is a stepped ledge at the bottom of the main back box.
  4. Im modding my jim tripon armor I bought off Andy to add the collar, and I agree the seperation is there. Its not blended in seamlessly like its been bondo'd and blended, so we can remove that line. That way should a set be molded that IS seamless it will still qualify, as well as those that appear as a seperate part as with 3d printing. I thought I had added the ledge line in, but it would be fine for an L2. It would be easy enough to add with a thick piece of sign plastic from the hardware store if its missing from a back piece. 5. I think your spray can is too close when you are making passes. Sand it back some and spray at a further distance. Make sure to fill your pouches with foam or rags so they appear full. No one wants a flat pouch.
  6. They look fine to me as well, the height is correct and I do not see decorative stitching.
  7. It comes down to how close a GML looks at things as well. Some do their due diligence, others just pretty much look at the CRL picture and roll with it. Luck of the draw for your Garrison.
  8. Ok so lets take a look at this as a final proposal. Once we lock this down, we can go back and edit the Aldhani trooper since the features are the same. My only real concern here is approval for those purchasing kits, which are likley not being updated. We dont control vendors and how they treat their molds. I have a Jim Tripon fiberlass kit, and its a far cry from these details. Back V 2.1 (Final) Back plate is painted to match the chest armor and helmet. The back plate, box and collar are seamless. 10. Thanks Jason Ill make some edits to this. If I printed mine I would grind the back off and put a fan on it. I did that with the Boushh helmet, I dont know if it helped much but my friend Niki is deaf anyway so she never heard the fan. Ill work on the update and put that in a seperate post.
  11. Ok updating this, this is quick and dirty typed out in notepad in between broken airplanes. Im at the end of a double shift so things are getting a little fuzzy looking at this. 12. my brain isnt processing much right now, im too tired, but Ill try to get back to this tomorrow if I dont work overight again.
  13. let me clean this up so its easier to read: Back Armor Back plate is painted to match the chest armor and helmet. Back plate has a collar that extends upwards and tapers to the chest plate. Chest and back plate meet at the sides. There are 2 hose connectors located at the top of the back plate approximately centered above each rectangular cut out/greeblie. 14. yeah I beleive we can close this section up pretty quick and will do the shoulders and Biceps at once.
  15. Here is the back. One difference I see is that I do not note the loop of elatic / webbing on the back between the hose connectors. This one is fairly simple. Back Armor Back plate is painted to match the chest armor and helmet. Back plate has a collar that extends upwards and tapers to the chest plate. Chest and back plate meet at the sides. The backplate features painted details that vary from trooper to trooper. Acceptable colors for these details are either silver or gunmetal, but one color must be chosen. Mix and match of the detail items is not permitted. There are 2 hose connectors located at the top of the back plate approximately centered above each rectangular cut out/greeblie. Hose connecters are painted to match the strap raised slot, strap buckle, and recessed box color. Back has two large cut out recesses with vent details and greeblies inside, all painted silver or gunmetal. The silver or gunmetal paint does not leave the edge of the box opening. The vents at the top of the boxes may have the openings darkened with weathering. Four raised bars approximately .375" (10mm) long aligned to the top of the recessed box opening may be present. Each recess has different and specific set of boxes inside that are painted to match the recessed box color. Light weathering is permitted. Bottom left features a smaller rectangle cut out with the left side stepped. Half circle indent detail beneath the backpack section must be present. There is a long thin raised greeblie positioned central and below the 2 large recesses. There is a small raised circle greeblie positioned central and below the above named greeblie. There is a raised slot on each shoulder for the straps to fit into. The raised slots are painted either silver or gunmetal grey. Shoulder straps are black and are affixed to the chest plate at the buckle. The chest buckle shall match the raised slot color. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): The hose fittings are angled forward. There is a recessed hole approximately .31" (7.8mm) above the top left corner of the left recessed box. There are two indented squares approximately 1⁄4" x 1⁄4" (5mm x 5mm) aligned vertically above the right upper corner of the left recessed box.
  16. its been a few days so Im going to wrap this up. V1.2 (final) Chest Armor Chest armor matches visual references being accurate in shape and design. The join between the chest and back armor are created by an angled sweep starting at the bottom of the chest armor and finishing at the bottom of the back armor. This may be held closed with magnets, velcro or other hidden fastener. There is an indented area around the outer edge of the center flat section. Buckles attach to upper chest plate and match the armor color. Shoulder straps are affixed to the chest plate at the buckle. The shoulder strap is black. It is permitted to be made of cast flexible urethane or other flexible material. To the lower left side of the center flat panel is a recessed area angled inward from bottom to top with a raised rectangle greeblie and a recessed horizontal elongated oval. Left of the recessed area is a raised square that extends from the center to the curved side of the armor. On the top left side of the raised area is a raised oblong detail that protrudes outwards. Chest shall be painted to match helmet and back armor. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Buckles have black recess on upper narrow section and the lower recess shall expose the chest armor. Buckles may have silver paint chipping showing gunmetal underneath the silver.
  17. Thanks for indulging me and this was the content I wanted. I knew that If *I* was seeing it, others will and just like what happened last time with the Aldhani troopers on the day the CRL goes live someone will come up with "BUT YOU DIDNT DISCUSS XX". I wanted to get that cleared out ahead of time. We have a line in the existing CRL that the armor needs to be accurate in both shape and design- it will be up to the maker to follow that guideline, and for the costume builder to either find a suitable design, or print their own from a file that has the correct shape. Agree on the bicep. I was talking to Andy over at the BHG the other day about the biceps for other costumes and this split clamshell design, and the craziness that it is leading us towerds. Thats going to be a discussion that we will need to take a bit of time on. V1.2 Chest Armor Chest armor matches visual references being accurate in shape and design. The join between the chest and back armor are created by an angled sweep starting at the bottom of the chest armor and finishing at the bottom of the back armor. This may be held closed with magnets, velcro or other hidden fastener. There is an indented area around the outer edge of the center flat section. The shoulder strap is black. It is permitted to be made of cast flexible urethane or other flexible material. To the lower left side of the center flat panel is a recessed area angled inward from bottom to top with a raised rectangle greeblie and a recessed horizontal elongated oval. The recessed area is painted medium grey. The elongated oval is painted Humbrol Eed #19, or equivalent. The raised rectangle greeblie is painted silver or light grey. Left of the recessed area is a raised square that extends from the center to the curved side of the armor. A white or silver rectangle is present on this raised square. On the top left side of the raised area is a raised oblong detail that protrudes outwards. Chest shall be painted to match helmet and back armor. a very dark grey. Greenish undertones in certain lighting conditions is acceptable. An acceptable range of colors include RLM 70 to Sherwin Williams SW6994 Greenblack, or equivalent. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Buckles have black recess on upper narrow section and the lower recess shall expose the chest armor. Buckles may have silver paint chipping showing gunmetal underneath the silver.
  18. Hello troopers Apologies for my absences. My work schedule is on call 24/7. Multi-state road trips are a thing, and they are happening more and more frequently with only two people to cover the entire Gulf South. I realy desperately need a third person here. Optional weathering-optional. "Parts may be weathered to depict on screen appearance" On the grey inset this is what Im seein, and if Im seeing it others are too, so I want to explore this. This is a deep inset, and if painted black should remain in shadow, not as a highlight.
  19. Thanks Ryan my work schedule prevents me from getting into the forums nearly as much as I used to. Ryan is correct, and when you submit for specialist application, you are going to submit more, and more detailed photos. Basic approval is just that, the basic four pics front back left right. for Specialist aplication Im going to want all of those, plus closeups of the pouchs, glove backs, helmet and an action shot that will go onto the trading card images.
  20. I find this interesting, fascinating, intriquing, and would love to redo my ICAT Biceps. We will definitely cover this more in depth once we get the back completed.
  21. i have the cuff pouches all over my rigs, and the pistol pouch , while the right shape, is a bit small since its a pistol pouch. Try this one in instead: https://tacticalgear.com/condor-triple-m4-mag-pouch-od-green?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=&utm_campaign=bingads&ft=e3f7bec5-8df6-438f-88ce-592a9bedc97a&msclkid=7b17c10b94221e8ec806a5ad794090e5&utm_content=condor#/22497/848/1&dl=b&catr=1 your GML may approve the keyring puch but Im not keen on it for L2 aproval and we want everyone L2 approved. something similar to a SAW pouch would be perfect. https://tacticalgear.com/condor-triple-m4-mag-pouch-od-green?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=&utm_campaign=bingads&ft=e3f7bec5-8df6-438f-88ce-592a9bedc97a&msclkid=7b17c10b94221e8ec806a5ad794090e5&utm_content=condor#/22497/848/1&dl=b&catr=1 You shoiuld be painting all the pouches and belt the same color anyway so it will all match color wise.
  22. I think for simplicity we can word it to allow for flex and a gap at even L1 since its seen on screen. I printed out my ICAT files from mudtrooper I dont remember if those were your remixes or Seans originals but they were one piece and fit me fine. ok , so lets have a go at this. I am altering the text for the recessed and raised blocks on the armor left chest since this is different than what we see on Aldhani. V1.1 Chest Armor Chest armor matches visual references being accurate in shape and design. 23. I always understood the lower curves to line up, like with magnets to keep them more or less aligned. Ive not paid any attention to shoretroopers, we dont have any here so Ive never made the connection that the back is similar in appearance to our Endor and mudtroopers. We can write is so that the curved join is stated. One thing I note in the photos especially the one at the bottom that you lightened is that the bicep is open at the back, like we saw in Mandelorian with the new Pretorian Guards. Fabric on the arm is clearly visible, and here the shirt fabric is sticking out.
  24. This is like the most boring, classic 80s movies black-on-black-on-black-on black "BAD GOVERNMENT AGENCY" bad guy costume ever. There's just no color. I do see a slight sheen on the shoulderstraps and I believe thats because they are cast flexible rubber like what we wear. I may be wrong but thats my guess. My cast rubber straps look like that. Anthracite seems like a good call for those that can get it, otherwis, flat black. The inset on the chest looks grey.
