Jill on my pouches for my SnowScout I started over with that stiff white canvas that you use for paintings. I made mine using this, and layered it with an inner layer of common duck cloth. I stuffed them with foam, and they look great.

welcome future swampy! my friend SkyWanHwa is working on hers as she can , given how frozen Minnesota is right now.

if you did a selfie, the images will be reversed. What paint are you using for the matt black?
-
I was going to ask if you were going to use the Angelus. I used their Olive on my Army trooper boots, and I was happy with it. Its definitely more flexible than regular acrylic paint.
-
yep. You can retain some length of the webbing to allow you to adjust up and down. I messed with my belts * I have two* a lot until I got happy with them, and I find I like my belts to be heavy so they sit better on my shoulders, this keeps them from slipping off.

Blackwatch replied to vegecethepilot's topic in Armor/Soft Parts and Where to Find Them
Welcome Ryan, and Im in progress on this as well. Gabriel since I last posted I have rejoined my discussions in the ACD, and I am Dewka over there *(my Legion name). Ill be bouncing ideas on the Combat Assault Transport Driver over there with you, essentially the armor minus helmet is the same as our Mudtrooper. I have read Ricky's topic twice and its a fantastic resource. By reading this topic, I now know more about where to source soft parts other than Jim Tripon. THIS IS WHY I LOVE WIP TOPICS and Questions. -
how does Jimmiroquai armor fit us bigger guys? does it fit?
Blackwatch replied to Blackwatch's topic in Mudtroopers
Thanks Darren . That tells me what I need right there especially since Ill have a tunic. I got the info on the mudtrooper files over at the ACD (Freindly folks over there) and I will be investigating that. I didnt know IS makes kits, Ill hit Jason up. He sent me some B grade Army helmets to review, those samples are as good as some makers A grade helmets. -
If you do straps that have loops on the back , so the belt passes through, it solves all the issues of the snaphooks. You can mount your pouches at the point where the belt meets the pouch, and the triglides can be used to adjust it up and down.

How did I not see this???? Ok, I dont know if its still there for not but I used to check boots for the JRS and create lists, including ladies sizes. Some of these are a bit "decorative" with the longer tongue at the front, HOWEVER, lets say you want to paint them green and slather on a buncha mud. or even black with mud, ? But, I digress. @DarthSnark I want to thank you for the effort you put into this search. This is something we need to address, and we have a growing number of ladies who are going for Specialist. This is all necessary. I know from my years of developing boot lists that ladies boots are tough. I wear size 13EEE to 14EE , so I know how tough it is to find boots. Size 5 is just as hard as size 15. Speak to your GML before you buy, get approval so you know any boot you get can be approved, likely with some modification. Personally, I dig the Madison boot. Thats a 7 - 7.5 US size, true to size, narrow. The Marco Tozzi boot has the wider size range, from 5 to 9.5, but will need some work to get the shank straightened out. Or replaced perhaps. The Razamaza boot goes from size 3 to 10, giving by far the widest selection of sizes. The longer , scalloped tonge on the front might be able to be trimmed down, and the top can be fixed as well. Looking at the old 'bay for whats out there, I found a set of size 7 engineer boots, which can be cut down (or used for a TIE pilot, etc). its basically the ladies version of the same boot I wear with my TIE and gunner. Here's a set of size 8 Frye's that could also be trimmed down to size for use. Jennifer I hope this helps, Please keep us up to date on where you stand. When I was the Lead Mentor over at the JRS I trained my Mentors to have their Cadets get boots first *for this very reason*. Boots are most often the hardest part of people with feet and calves that do not fit in the "standard" sizes.

how does Jimmiroquai armor fit us bigger guys? does it fit?
Blackwatch posted a topic in Mudtroopers
hey everyone I just talked to Jim about his armor and whether or not it would fit me, so Im readching out here to get your input. Ive asked my printer guys here and they all shrugged, they do not have anything that will print armor, so it looks like unless there is an ABS armor out there, Jim armor may be my option, IF it will fit me. So what are your expereinces? I typically wear between a 3x or 4x (which is often loose, it depends). Is the armor as flexible as abs can be? we do not have any printed armor here, so I have nothing to go by as far as durability, weight, how to work it, etc. its all plastic and rotocast resin in this Garrison. Thanks for the input. -

Below is a list of Vendors for the Imperial Army Trooper and Engineer/ Sapper that are in good standing with the Spec Ops Detachment. This list is not all inclusive and there are other Vendors that make items for the Imperial Army. Should other Vendors provide us with their information we will update this list accordingly. If you know or use a Vendor that is not listed, contact them and have the Vendor contact us and we will add them. Recommendations are welcome but will not be added to this list unless provided by the Vendor themselves. The Spec Ops Detachment does not endorse any Vendor over any others. It is up to you the Trooper to do the research and exercise due diligence when purchasing any products from Vendors. The Spec Ops Detachment does not get involved in any disputes that a customer may have with a Vendor and even though these Vendors are considered to be in “Good Standing,” it is not uncommon for issues to arise that must be worked out between the buyer and seller. Imperial Army Vendors. Parts resource list
Blackwatch replied to Blackwatch's topic in Imperial Army Units
This topic is to be locked, and all new vendor list to be created. Please check the new Imperial Army Vendor List for up to date information. -
honestly, we missed it. The question came about after it was done. Keep in mind we did not cut copy paste much of anything, and everything was written from scratch, and its a detail that was missed. here is the link that I have posted to the Army troopers for the rubber edge trim for the helmets, this should work fine its basically the same stuff. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=Small+U+Channel+Car+Black+120"Rubber+Protect+Edge+Seal+Trim&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.XSmall+U+Channel+Car+Black+Rubber+Trim.TRS0&_nkw=Small+U+Channel+Car+Black+Rubber+Trim&_sacat=0

Blackwatch replied to IcyTrooper's topic in Lieutenant Janek Sunber
I think that is fine, it would match the appearance of the comic, and the comic officers are pretty much clean shaven. I never had to do cielings, but ive had to do floors after The Great 2016 Flood. You have my full sympathy. -
that it is a rubber edge trim, flat, U channel type. I have reached out to the vendors, and the best answer I got was " its from Uline " or "its from Mcmaster catalog". well, I tried ordering a sample pack and did not come up with the right stuff. Im going to reach out to Intergalactic Supply and see if Jason will give me the part number, he uses the same rubber trim on the Army trooper helmets.

Eric you guys still got power? -
paint them black. Mine have the loops, but the holster straps should be black (or green with a green holster) to match the CRL. You can riase the strap to the next hole up if it does not interfere.
