  1. Rat can you post a pic please? I dont have this kit, but if I had a visual I could probably figure it out.
  2. Ive worn my boots a lot. I also weathered mine with paint and mud, so far it is holding up pretty well.
  3. that spray paint is great, for the people that can get it. I painted all my gear with it, and it makes everything match.
  4. they look good to me, i mean side by side they look like my Commuter boots.
  5. personally, and even thinking of it as a GML, i like this boot. This goes to size 48? Can you measure how big the leg calf opening is around? I know someoone in Yavin Base that wants to do a IA Trooper and she has big legs, so this may work for her
  6. yeah, if it is a customizable character, it cannot be used. If it is a NPC, you MIGHT--and I say MIGHT-- get it past the LMO for Legion use. I just spent a ton of money, time and effort on a Rebel costume that I officially NOPED out of yesterday. The character was a background NPC, it was very fuzzy and in shadow. We had the whole CRL written, I had over a hudred photos taken of the costume, ready to submit to the CRL with all the sources, and somene found the character mesh. I was done at that point , since it would be a complete rewrite, complete rebuild, and was going to cost me a lot of money. So I backed out of it. Unless you can find good clear images, and use meshes and character renders just like we did with the recent Del Meeko crl upgrade, we have to work with the official LFL sources. But if you want to build it for yourself, absolutely! I have my own Officer , which cannot be cleared, but its still a great build and looks good.
  7. The CRL is based on the official sources, but there is another topic which has been archived which shows an inaccurate, incorrect trooper that used chest armor. There is a single, perhaps two images of Imperial Solders ( IS classification) like the ATST drivers with grey hemlets and grey armor, this came from a single pane from the West End Games source guides. But it does not give us the required 360 degree views. (that said) once your set up is approved, the setup is cleared for use in official Legion events. If you were to add a part here or there for non -official events, just make sure those photos dont make it to the Garrison website.
  8. thank you and yeah, i wore that kevlar crap. Hated it. The 63 pattern M1 was MUCH better. And you could drop it. And you could dig with it. And you could sit on it. And it did not cost $475 when you dropped it off the back seat of a duece rolling down the A3 headed to the field, and you coudlnt participate because you lost your Kpot. I have several M1s. Good helmets!
  9. After all the work I had put into this , we had to shelve it. The soureces we originally worked off of just did not pan out and turned out to be largely fan art, and one wikipedia image of Colonel Veers, which is what I modeled my officer after. At this time, this costume just does not have enough official sources. i have a nice one-off, and I can wear it on my own terms because I love the look of this, but I cannot use it for official events.
  10. this looks really good. I know what you mean about the filler, im having issues with my scout back plate filler cracking just from putting the darn thing on.
  11. holy cow. Wow what a process. I love your magnets, like the clone faceplates.
  12. just a quiock note here for anyone that may be reading up on old posts ( like I am) the new DM CRL is live, and it requires structured, layered straps like that shown in the game images. I believe you can glue strips of leather together with Barge cement to get the required look.
  13. Gabriel, I cant speak for the ACD, its been a long time sice i went in there, but when you set up your gear for SO, its worth it to go for the Specialist Program. Those are the Level 2 standards in blue. I'ts tougher, but looks better overall, and we reward our Specialists.
  14. Thats a good question, and it occurred to me in the past as well. I took a close in look at our CRL model and it appears they are curved to fit the thigh. If you look at the CRL main picture, click on it and it takes you to the gallery view, then click on it again and you can enlarge and really see a lot of detail.
  15. With the lack of triglides, I feel we do not mention it. its not supported in the art, and if its not present in the text, then it would not be judged as presented. on the commlink, I feel like we can treat it one of two ways and still allow for an L2. Version 1: Holder, no commlink L1 Commlink An imperial commlink may be present on the web harness, adjacent to the rank badge on the left suspender. The pouch is green in color matching the rest of the web gear, and is form fitted to hold a Imperial Commlink. Version 2, with commlink An imperial commlink is held inside of a commlink pouch, adjacent to the rank badge on the left suspender. The pouch is olive green in color matching the rest of the web gear, and is form fitted to hold a Imperial Commlink. The commlilnk is a matching olive green color, with a raised band around its midsection featuring raised vertical bars with a black speaker area. Version 3, L2 OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): The commlilnk is a matching olive green color, is accurate to original source art, and has a black mesh speaker area. Im getting loopy as I write this, so its not my best descrption, but it gives us an idea of which way to go for a possible L2.
  16. Eric thats what I used on my Sapper, Neal found those gloves and they fit the bill.
  17. My Endor commando boots are painted Boots Brown *yes its a color) and it really didnt flake off. My ATAT Door gunner shoes are painted white acrylic (in the old way of doing things) and they flake off just putting them on. With a modern paint like Rustoleum2x on a clean sole, my bet is that it will stick a bit in the areas that do not get a lot of flex, but will wear down on the contact points and around the heel edge.
  18. i went back through the discussion. There was a 1 year break in there, and we thought it connected to the belt to hold it up.
  19. Rat here is the backplate image for reference, from our CRL discussion . Also, all of my rubber straps have a piece of webbing made into it, the rubber strap is for looks, the webbing is what gets fed and sorted through slots/ octagons in my armors.
  20. Ok everyone, just got my computer to unlock. its old (not my laptop at work, my old computer at home), and now I can post. I read the text for the suit, and have read the discussion, and Im in agreement that these shoud be L1 items. I was so dialed in to the neck closure when I last looked at this, that I didnt look at the sleeves but in the back of my mind I know its there. This needs to be there for L1, as this will be a slightly different suit. We are not requiring pocket flaps for the Army Trooper, so requiring both arm pockets with flaps should be an L1 item. On the chevron closure on the strap, my way of thinking is this: Swap the now-L2 text for the L1 text. L1 has snaps, or a topstitched line holding velcro. This is easy mode. But for L2, its not supposed to be easy mode. You need to plan ahead, the same way I make X wing coveralls with invisible closures, so I sew the velcro on first before I make the neck closure. To me, this is the default closue. Invisible. Bra hook, internally stitched velcro, magnet hidden inside the fabric, glued velcro dot, whichever the member prefers to go with.
  21. wouldnt the drop pouches be described the same way we did for del meeko?
  22. The uniforms are made by some race somewhere in a factory, punched out by the billions, and would be the same. Which I dont understand since Sunbers uniform is the same as the other Officers, with the green *(and black) coveralls. Im iffy on it. That said, when you get coveralls you have to make your own neck closure, so its either velcro or snap you are adding, since the snap is optional. I would like to add a line for Sunber, since its clearly visible in all the images from front and 3/4 views: Green Imperial Flight Suit One-piece olive green coverall / jumpsuit / flight suit with a front invisible zipper and mandarin collar. Each shoulder has a patch as noted below. 2 large chest pockets. 2 large cargo pockets sit on the outside of each leg from around mid-thigh and not extending past the bottom of the knee, with a rectangular flap covering the top. There are no leg pockets below the knees. Pockets may feature gussets. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Mandarin collar is closed by a chevron shaped strap across the neck. Collar is closed by a rectangular piece of Velcro. Stitching is visible from the exterior. 2 chest pockets feature flap closures made of matching fabric, as wide as the pocket, and roughly 1.25" (32mm) tall.
  23. Very good. Since the hat is quite common to other Officers, can we clear and lock and move on to the next component, the green flight suit?
  24. Once more dear friends, into the breech--- Take a look at the reference photos , and note that all officers are wearing their Imperial hats with code disks in place. Troopers are optional, however officers are seen worn. I propose the following changes to keep the current style we are using. This will be CRL version V.1 red strikethrough - removed text green- new proposed text Hat, Olive Fabric is a medium weight suiting material of olive green. Base of the hat is conical, with a crown about 4" (101.6mm) (107mm) tall. Front and rear “flaps” overlap on the sides and are about 4" (101.6mm)(107mm) high. Front bill extends 3" (76mm) down, decorated with (5) (6) or (7) concentric stitches. An Imperial Code Disk is may be positioned in the center of the front vertical “flap”. but is not required.
