Welcome IZ! SO, big question: MS-06 II or MS-05A? Gained a lot of respect for the MS-04 Bugu watching Gundam Begins but I also dig the -05A from MS08th Team. But if you look in my closet, its all MS-06, green and red! Everything Raider said above. Dig into other peoples WIP topics to see how they did things. We just updated the Shadowscout CRL so you are good to go with the freshest information. Start putting your soft parts together while waiting for the armor to be delivered. And don't forget to post progress pics, it helps everyone.

Mudtrooper / Mimban Officer Build - I think it's possible!
Blackwatch replied to xAlpha's topic in Mudtroopers
I hope youre happier with this set. I was never happy with WTF stuff. Ive worked on a lot of his TIE sets. -
I made two entire full armor costumes out of 3mm and 6mm sintra. 6MM sintra is no joke when you are cutting a 48" piece of it. I keep a knife sharpener at my worksite and sharpen my blade after every other pass. I use heavy duty utility knives and they dull quckly. I also have a heavy aluminum T square for long straight cuts. I make 5 or 6 full length passes, then snap the Sintra. It works the same for ABS. Its all in making full lenght passes with a sharp knife, and letting the knife blade do the work.

make sure you are wearing yoru under armor that you plan to wear with the armor, and not Tshirt/jeans. I worked with a guy who was a real hardhead, and he refused to wear his under suit to build his Phase1 clone. When we got done and he put the UnderArmor on, it didn't fit him right at all.

maybe the TK sorts would know, Im not familiar with the maker. Good luck with it. I never advise to buy built armor, you never now if it will fit right till you get it, unless the guy is the same size and buid you are.

this thing is sharp looking

Agree with Ryan. CRLs are step by step, incremental, and I find our process different from all the Standards I wrote in the RL because we are working with a LOT more images and resources, where in the RL we didnt have nearly as many. I would suggest you take a read through the final six pages of the Del Meeko we just finished up last week. We got really in depth with that, but there are things that are defintely L1 basic approval items, vs L2 optional/ specialist approval items. Seeing how we handled each component there will give you an idea for how we want to tear this costume apart inch by inch and determine how it will be in the end. Del Meeko CRL discussion

Endorfinders has the IA patch on PREORDER status. I would say if you need this patch, PREORDER today so they will be able to fulfil. IA Patch Preorder

Very good point Chris, thank you. As you can see, Im a big guy. And buying black coveralls in the US? Good luck!!! Never seen em, only charcoal grey and tan. Everything like that is Mail Order and I stick with one company because I know exactly how they fit.

Boot Blousing For Imperial Army Troopers
Blackwatch replied to Blackwatch's topic in Imperial Army Engineer
UPDATED MAY 2020 -
Thats a GML Call. If I were GML I would say no. I would cover the button by making a new pocket flap with fabric cut from the leg cuff. I did the same for my neck closure strap. I wrote a short how to on that, its posted here i the forums. EDIT Find out if someone in your area has scrap coverall fabric. I havetorn apart around 50 black coveralls so I always have carcasses, leftover butt pockets etc from pulling them apart to make pilot flilgtsuits.

they look fine to me. Your GML will ultimately being the one to approve, but if were still a GML I would have no problem approving them.

Proposal for updates to the Army Engineer
Blackwatch replied to ShovelGuy's topic in Imperial Army Engineer
Yes, just boots and ROTJ belt The belt will not be grafted into the CRL until the revision is posted. We do not have a timeline for that. -
Proposal for updates to the Army Engineer
Blackwatch replied to ShovelGuy's topic in Imperial Army Engineer
they are not white. This was previously discussed and agreed upon by the CRL Team and the LMO team. they are dity black. As I have previously shown in my dicussions anyone who has ever spent time in the field gets their garrison black boots dirty quickly. I spent a lot of time in the mud and dust in the Army, they were black for about 15 minutes after I hit the ground. -
Proposal for updates to the Army Engineer
Blackwatch replied to ShovelGuy's topic in Imperial Army Engineer
the boots are short, no more than 9" which remains below most mens calves but well above the Chelseas I also wear. You can see this pic of me , I was just approved Specialist last week in the Commuter boot, and compare that to MOPP 4 boots, when tucked in they appear very short, but do not feature the upturn of the Chelsea, nor do they have the U fabric.
