i like the shape overall. the only issue with the boot is that decorative stitching. A GML MIGHT/ MAY/ ITS UP TO HIM OR HER approve for L1 use, which isnt really a bad thing if you can source these. But I do not believe they would pass for Specialist approval. Kessel I want to again give you a big thanks, for going above and beyond in your search. I have posted a link in the Army Equipment Purchase List topic so others may find this topic. Even if the links do not work, you have posted the names of the boots that fit the bill.

Sorry Ryan I did not see your propoosal , I had read Alex's post from Tuesday and worked from there. Lets work from one proposal. Yours has the correct bullet forattting that my computes refuse to work with, so lets use yours. The only difference is that on my L2 I have the ear bumps with four bumps and a fifth rectungular black depression that Alex described.

Thats good work you did Kessel Ill say ,always check with your GML. some of these have additional, decorative stitching. It may be approvable for a L1 base approval, but if one wants to go Specialist that will likely be a issue. Good work!

Blue you clearly put some work into this. Ok, that means its time for me to do my thing. Ill align it with the standardized format we use, I use a lot of cut copy past. As we go through each part, we will beat it to death, rake it over the coals, dehydrate it , grind it to a fine powder, and rehydrate it for later use. its a process, and in the end, we all win. We will discuss each part of the uniform, starting at the top, and working our way down, one bit at a time as the part is completed. We also need to determine baseline Level 1 standards, as well as Level 2 standards for Specialists. Ready, Steady--go

this is a nice boot. very likely nicer than what I wear. and it probably isnt lined for warmth like mine are. however they are leather and mine are , vinyl? pleather? naugahyde? I bet these are better boots. I wouldn't say no if someone wanted to purchase a better boot especially if they plan to use it for other costumes.

Ok guys, Im back on the forum. I was on the road travelling to the new job site for two days and Im finally getting back online. Chris, thanks for going Engineer. I love wearing mine. Its light, easy breezy and eventually hopefully gets converted to a Sapper! Lets start at the top. My hat is a VERY OLD RunyaJade. Its old. Maybe 10 years? Ive washed the crap out of it, so its not anything like one of those super crisp ImperialMadSeamstress hats Niki Powers makes (mine is the prototype hat she made me years ago). So, to ME, the hat fits the bill. I wear mine under my helmet, but thats how we wore them in the Army, it was pretty much the only padding for the helmet then. The disk is not necessary but if you want to go Specialist it has the required notch. From the CRL: Hat, Black Fabric is a medium weight black suiting material. I went to the link *thanks for posting that* and looked the hat over as best I could. Ive seen this hat before, I think I bought one a couple of years ago when I was evaluating hats. I like the statement that it is officially licensed. Does it actually have the SW tag inside? The hat is twill, and the CRL says suiting. The CRL is a wiki and its shared among the entire club for all components. If you go look at other CRLs with identical parts, youll see it all matches. We cut copy and paste the same verbiage for consistency among all members. Its up to the GML, but I would say it fits the bill, especially since Army Engineers are NOT Imperial Officers. Besides, half the time youre going to have the hat on backwards wiearing the goggles. On your coveralls, my Army Green Elcos have BSG cut corners. Iits they way they are made, and it should not be a problem, but if your GML wants you to make flat pockets, cut some fabric off the bottom of the leg cuff (*Not too much!) and make a flap. Mine are sewed down. I made my thigh pockets out of the back pockets which come off the coveralls and used scrap ( I have a lot of scrap coveralls) to make the thigh pockets. On the gusset, thats a GML call, but if you go for L2 Specialist, we may ask you to change it. I see no evidence of a split or gusset in the pocket, and Ive stared at these images for well over a year. You can order a harness, or spend a few bucks and some quality time at the sewing machine. Make sure your harness lays as flat on your shoulders as you ca make it. While we CALL it an H harness, its more of a somwhat modified M that kind of turns into a Y. fix your strap lenght, hide your snaphooks on the backside of the belt, set your length with the triglides, and then have someone pin and tape (and photograph) the horizontal strap on the back so it lays flat and horizontal. That was THE most aggravating part of the entire build. Good luck with your build. If you shoot for L2 specs, you will be a Specialist in no time! *this was an early suit up, with my original gloves, and when my belt was a bit lower than I wear it now so this looks different than the CRL photos I did later*

i wear those spandex Russel athletic shirts, and a pair of cheap nylon shorts. I can get dressed at the fan table. I haven't had a changing area (Besides a parking lot) in a long time.

glad to see youre making progress When Maj Roth and myself made the Manticoran Marine skinsuit, we used a different brand of coveralls that's a little cheaper off Amazon. natural workwear coveralls ive switched to these. Im not sure how deep the cuts need to go, they seem to be about 1/8" on BSN from the WIPs im following there. ive seen regular craft knives and hot knives used. I brought up the topic there on how armor is sized, and I was pretty much assured that I would get at lest basic approval with SC. I always felt I looked ridiculous in it, because it was too small, but Im told its basically a soft costume with armor bits added, and comes down to how its strapped, so I think you would be fine with the SC. My own Spike helmet is on the way. SC sends the armor preformed and trimmed, so you wont be fitting much more than making sure the shoulders fit right and the strapping is correctly set up . I think youll enjoy the experience.

Del Meeko Vest modifications
Blackwatch replied to Commandermoonmoon's topic in Inferno Squad Del Meeko
You can easily make this out of wood, a scrap of ABS or similar plastic of the right size, and some black canvas or similar cloth. total time to do this including getting the photos converted and uploaded was under 8 minutes. -
my thought on that is the false tab on the side will prevent GMLs from approving. For me it would be a sticking point for the Specialist rating. I saw that boot but chose not to include it due to that side tab. .

Yep, that's him. Mine will be in in a few weeks.

You might also want to head over to the Pathfinder forums. There are some very serious very in depth helmet discussions there. I just ordered a helmet from spike because it is about the 2nd to the largest helmet made It will accommodate a 26" head or a smaller head with glasses. There is a long and incredibly detailed helmet size comparison topic in those forums.
