  1. Thanks to everyone who worked on this. Forward progress!
  2. Quick update- waiting new photos and final LMO review.
  3. Quick update on this. Currently at CL 1.1 . We should have all input in by now.
  4. Ok, so now we have the flightsuit at change log 1.3 on the previous page. We have discussed the commpad and have a working model of it. we have not talked about the gloves, those are next in CRL order. Lets get those hammered out. This part should be quick, once we are in agreement we move to the next section. Commpad and Glove text discussion Change LOG 1 Additions in orange Compad Rectangular communications pad with patterned painted details matching reference photo. Commpad base color is silver, metallic grey, or weathered silver. Compad is worn with the four large, rectangular buttons pointing towards the wearer’s elbow. Commpad is rectangular in shape and fits within the commpad pocket window. Size is 2.5" (63.5mm) x 2" (50mm). Compad is fully visible above the glove, facing outward on the arm. Gauntlet Gloves - Black, leather or leather-like material, enclosed fingered, non-textured, (normal leather grain/texture/lines are acceptable) fitted gauntlet style. - No buckles, straps, or decorative stitching. - There is a split on the bottom gauntlet portion that runs from the glove opening to the wrist that is bridged with leather or leather-like material - Gloves are made of leather.
  5. they do. even my old BishopX typical commpad clone has bent buttons, but most of the newer 3D files no longer bend and all of the buttons are elevated . there is a discussion on the new commpad elsewhere here in this Topic . New pads will be available soon.
  6. Hey Daniel welcome@ we are in the later stages of changes to the Del CRL, so be aware changes ARE coming. If you are able to see it, scroll up within this topic in the forum and check out the Del Meeko discussion. Current CRL is in effect and GMLs are free to clear then, but when we get the text and photos finialized we will run the changes through the GML. Please keep us posted with your progress!
  7. Ok just got a chance to read up. the last coupe of weeks have been busy. I work out of state at an intercontinental airport, and we are still working, and then when I travel home Im stacked with house projects. Back to the forums, yay! My view on the attachment of the pouches etc. Likely the person who orders or has the pouches made will go with whichever attachment system it comes with. If its MOLLE loops its going to be loose and flop. If its ALICE clips its tight. If its straps , it can go either way, it just depends. For L1 approval the look should be neat , not slopply/floppy/jalopy. For Specialist clearly it has to appear to have grown in place. Looking forward to model photos.
  8. yeah that's decorative sorry to say. No decorative simply means that its plain. his is the current CRL image. it is still up to your GML to approve or not, but this is the boot the Army, Army Troopers, Engineers and Sappers will be moving to. https://databank.501st.com/databank/File:IAT_Boots_Lv2.jpg. For the ARMY trooper jacks are still an acceptable option for L1 approval. The model is from before the current worldwide situation, and we are waiting on new phtoos to be uploaded with a new boots included . But hopefully soon we will have all new phtoos for all the costumes. addendum: this is basically a short motorcycle boot. 8-9 inches tall. I found a cheapie pair of motorcycle boots at Payless shoes, and they were pretty short, too short to be used as jackboots. You could likely trim those down to the 8-9" hight, and if you want to go green paint them green. All of my gear is painted with Montana Gold Olive from Micheals.
  9. good grief. Your dedication to this project is just astounding. I wont comment on the details, most of it I don't understand and what you polled off is way over my head, but this is awesome work. You've certainly earned the big breath and rest. The next step will be to develop a Reference Library. Now we know how it looks. Next we have to develop it for others to build. Well done!
  10. Just re read the last two pages to make sure Im cought up. I agree with JoeShoe, I was very disappointed In how little screen time they got.
  11. same, ive had some really rocky helmet transactions especially one of of Columbia that went south . I wasn't aware SGB was even making/selling anymore, last I heard *years ago* he was done selling to Legion members because of his recast accusations.
  12. im amazed. weve gone from a low resolution idea of what it looks like to this nice, smooth badass looking armor. Honestly I cant wait to see plastic or fiberglass or whatever it will be finalized in take shape. I have no idea how you are doing what you are doing---im a technodork---but I appreciate all of it.
  13. HIi there~ When I got mine I bought everything online. I do not have a local surplus store, so it all came from the web. Here is the purchase list I puot together for everything. 15. Ok everybody Im back on the job again and Im woking 16 hour shifts, so that's just killing any hint of free time. That helmet issome aberration that the artist made up. We don't have a maker/ helmet for it to be included in the CRL, unless we get someone to make this thing and we do not have a rear view of it so we don't know what it looks like. Moving on: Change Log 1.1 Boots Below the calf black leather or leather like material. Free of laces, decorative stitching, buckles on the instep or any other embellishments. 17. Im sticking to green. its how I have always interpreted it and its how many of us have already built our rigs. The sappers boots in the panel have no green whatsoever, its brown. Very close to raw umber. prior to the raid their boots were darker, this brown would reflect the accumulation of dirt in the field which happens very quickly when you are on the move. The cleanest of the Army troops have a somehwat lighter green than the coverall. I still argue this is artistic interpretation to show they are a different material, and covered with various shades of dust. The Army troopers gloves are green a half shade lighter than their coveralls. If we make everyone black across the board, then it will not match the source art. Id go so far as to allow OLIVE DRAB which is a greenish brown, for the boots, however OLIVE DRAB is not a set color, and I have probably 20 different shades of it on hand. Ill throw this into the monkeyworks. These are my current Air Force issue boots. They are SERGE GREEN. They appear brown in this picture.
  18. at the time of the discussion originally we decided not to. Officer tunic and different details It looks like a poorly drawn helmet with different details than the sapper. if people want a helmet with the black, they can build the sapper.
  19. Theres a second decorative stitch line going up the side. Im seeing that on a lot of boots. Also check out motorcycle boots with short shaft (or tall and just cut it off). If you take a look at th eCRL proposals that are being edited now ( I just finished both types a few minutes ago) Im rewriting for a below the calf boot. 8-9" just like you found here. Check your thrift stores, yiou may find a cheap pair of moto boots with round toes without the decorative stitch line. You're close. Thats for sure.
  20. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations on Approval! Youre in the Army now!
  21. @Raider last question first, yes the TK belt is will be applied to the Engineer and that is being discussed in this topic. My call is that the boots are black. The empires boots tend to run black, white or red with green for the army trooper being our exception. None of our CRls tell us how the legs are tucked into the boot top. That is the new term we will use going forward..."tucked". That is different than bloused, and that term will no longer be used. I will suit up Sunday and get new photos for the Engineer using the black Commuter iI boots I have, so we have all fresh images of the Engineer for front and back shots. This will remove the tall Jackboot from the CRL, and we will go forward using a short boot. Regular cheap motorcylce boots with 8-9" shafts can be used. Ive accidentally bought then that were far too short for Jackboot type use, so I know they are out there. PROPOSED TEXT FOR BOOTS Changes: Removals in red strikethough Additions/ text changes in emerald. Boots Calf High Below the Calf black leather or leather like material. Zippers on the inside of the boot are acceptable, so long as they are concealed. If the zipper is not covered by vinyl/ leather, it is painted black. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): 8-9" tall olive tone boot. Free of laces, decorative sticking, buckles on the instep or any other embellishments. Zippers on the inside of the boots are acceptable, so long as they are concealed. Pants legs shall be tucked into boots and fluffed to give appearance of original source art. Weathering of the boots is encouraged.
  22. in addition to the belts, we are considering changes to the boots to be more consistent with the short boot images of the art. There are short boots out there, available, and even a cheap pair of round toe motorcycle boots could be cut down to give this appearance. Current text in white, proposed removals in red strikethrough proposed addititions/ changes in Emerald Boots Calf High Below the Calf black leather or leather like material. 23. Matt its the tk belt that does not have the square covers, and its dirty.
  24. yep, ignore all gold references. that's metallic grey. my GO TO Metallic Grey is Tamiya metallic Grey XF-56 . You can get it in hobby shops. https://www.ebay.com/itm/202800092834
  25. Hello Robyn and welcome! we are glad to have you here with us. They take a bit of looking but they are definitely out there. Remember you want smooth, some of the commuters out there have decorative stitching which is wrong. also some have a STOPID price online. Don't pay that. I think I paid like 50 shipped for mine and I have two pair one black one green. I got mine on Ebay, size 14 E. The do go smaller abd at leat in my case the size runs half a size large, maybe due to the fleece lining. . Currently we are discussing boot length, and changes to the CRL which may lead to the removal of the jackboot as the primarly level 1 boot. We hope to have those changes made soon. this is what I have https://www.ebay.com/itm/NIB-new-Itasca-ITASCA-COMMUTER-FLEECE-LINIG-MENS-WINTER-BOOTS/401960432815?hash=item5d96b574af:m:mCJWP8Dkwv4C3IisxLZ2UQw
