  1. @Blackwatch knows this...but based on worldwide availability (affordability) we will just have to settle on some generic terms to get the color as close as possible. What he has done in the helmet is about right I think.
  2. maybe see if theres a way to be able to swap the flashlight on n off. two for one
  3. Getting there @Bozzy! Will you be adding a DLT-19 to your arsenal as well?
  4. My boxers (which are like a spandex dri-fit material) and a dri-fit tshirt. Bout it.
  5. @SpaceWelder Regarding the flightsuit pouches...the angled flaps in my opinion should be ok. In the original reference artwork, the flaps themselves are very hard to makeout. There are some instances where they are unseen: and in others where you can see the rectangular flap: The CRL itself however does not mention the shape of the flap. @Blackwatch? As far as the clips...they need to be hidden. That line is there as clips are a method of "construction" that shouldn't be seen...notice the CRL line says: "Visible snap-hook style fasteners that attach to belt eyelets are acceptable." Not necessarily required. If you are going for Specialist Level 2 (blue text) standards, that's where the "main body" of the fastener needs to be hidden. Notice here, not entirely...just main body. This allows for troopers to have the hooks as a means of securing/unsecuring the harness from the belt at the front while suiting up. The references do not show hooks...but for real life practical use, they are allowed so long as they are for the most part hidden. So if you are able to hide them, or find a way to practically put on/take off the harness/belt without them, it seems like a viable option to me.
  6. Got it...yea it's not like a gradual concave slope from what I see (like a scout trooper TD) but more angled and sharper (chamfered lol). I'm good then.
  7. No further discussion or debate outside of the L1/L2 split @nanotek did. We should be able to wrap this piece up then along with the other 3 pending. Welcome back...yea hang here...we really need to bang this out so you guys can get your approval submissions in. Your help is most definitely appreciated.
  8. Excellent! Passing this to the PR team Now on to finish that update!
  9. haha. hey if ur the first u can dub it what u want lol the corrosive weathering effect is really well done by the way. now to see it on you. i will be shooting u a pm as well
  10. Yes indeed that looks pretty good to me!
  11. Seems good...though I will admit I was getting a bit lost in determining which box was being talked about. That may be an issue for GMLs unfamiliar with the costume.
  12. I can't find a good shot of that right side end cap...and I only took notice because "chamfered" wasn't a word I was familiar with lol.
  13. Ditto to the second part. We try to align parts...but with all the cross-used parts over all the costumes over all the detachments, constant CRL updates, potential yearly staff turnovers, etc. it's not always feasible or efficient to do so. @JAFO is correct in stating detachments operate independently of one another in their requirements. I did check both...the Mimban Trooper CRL has an E-11 with 3 tiers...our Mudtrooper CRL has just 2 tiers for an E-11B and significantly less text...we don't even touch the tier 3 details.
  14. and yes the angled plastic will give the tank a contact/resting point at the top. u can glue it to the back tank...in my kit i actually cut a slit and put the angled plastic through the back plate to the interior...then riveted it as well so it wont ever pop off
  15. @CrookKnight the back tank does not have to be perfectly flush (esp at the bottom). Get it as close as u can. Ive attached an original TB so u can see how off they were in fact on screen. That said, the close u can get it the better looking it will be. Additionally, the bottom rivet will help in pulling the tank to the back.
  16. @nanotek Will this be one CRL piece entry or 2 separate pieces (2 separate pics)?
  17. do you have a link where these can be purchased? it would be good to add to our list of piece providers
  18. So like a Franken-Magma. Interesting! My guess is by the time you are ready to submit this, the CRL proposal will have been published (we are just waiting for pictures). I would suggest following the text here in anticipation of the update: https://forum.specops501st.com/topic/7111-proposed-crl-modification-crimson-stormtrooper-magma-trooper/
  19. Welcome! In addition to RWA, you could also consider RS Props and Chef's Creations...both UK based makers of scout armor as well that are both very good. In terms of tools...a dremel/rotary tool, curved end snips, lots of sandpaper/sanding blocks, pop rivet tool. Take a look at the CRL for the various straps/elastics you will need. I can''t speak to all the makers, but I know Chef provides all of the materials you will need to finish the armor build (straps, rivets, greeblies). Consider also soft goods and boots...decide whether you will be making your own or buying from a vendor. Most of these also provide those pieces as well.
  20. Ditto to what Icy said regarding the sides and getting them flush...but in truth the belt cinched up is what will ultimately hold it all together tight. For Level 2...make sure you have the 3 fasteners on the left side. They dont have to functional but I did use the split rivets there permanently attached so the ab and kidney formed a “clamshell”. Then on the right side of the abdomen there should be 1 snap. That was the only snap I used there and the belt did the rest of the holding. I would give ya pics but I sold my Sandtrooper (once a TK) and sent it off just this past weekend.
  21. Yup based on what I see this is the CRL to follow...no jet pack permitted here...thats only for the Battlefront vid game version...tho you do have a bit more variety in weapon options: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TX_shadow_stormtrooper
  22. Eeek! Lol. Great news! I will admit much sooner than expected. We are stretched thin on CRL work at the moment...lets see those pics though! If he is up to it, @IcyTrooper can take lead on helping you revise the (very old) proposal.
